In Pokémon GO, Giovanni is one of the toughest PvE bosses you can fight. One player chose extra “small” Pokémon for this and shows how he defeats the boss with attackers that have a maximum of 500 WP.
What is it about?
A video of a trainer from Pokémon GO shows the fight against Giovanni. The player volunteered to take on the boss with the weakest possible attackers and still win.
The community discusses the video and notes how close the victory ended up being.
This is how close the fight against Giavonni goes
This is what is shown:
In the nearly five-minute video, the trainer uses the attackers Farbeagle (394 WP), Irokex (497 WP) and Hoppspross (499 WP).
- Farbeagle has only a short appearance for the time being and makes sure that Giovanni uses his first shield.
- Irokex then quickly lures out the second and thus last shield
- Giovanni has used up his two shields and is now unprotected against the attacker’s charging attacks.
- With difficulty Irokex then finishes off Snobilikat and barely survives
- This allows Irokex to deal some more damage against Geowaz before it is replaced
- As the last attacker, Hoppspross then comes into the picture and can effectively attack against Geowaz with its plant attacks
- Due to the fact that Giovanni has no more shields, Hoppspross’ charging attacks come through
- Irokex knocks the last life points out of Geowaz
- Against Ho-Oh, Irokex and Farbeagle come into play again, still part of the team with few life points left
- Due to Ho-Oh’s slow attacks, Farbeagle can survive for a long time and deal damage with its comparatively faster charge attack
What the community has to say about it:
In the comments on reddit, players praise the fight, but also say that there is still potential (via reddit.com):
- “This is the best thing I’ve ever seen”.
- “Incredible. It gets really tight at the end. No room for error or lag.”
- “To be fair, there are moments when the break after a change is not so well utilized. [Der Spieler] Could have farmed much longer with Farbeagle after switching in against Ho-Oh, for example. The pause after a switch is longer than after a charge attack. Other than that, a very impressive game!”
- To which the player replies, “That was intentional. I wanted to use as many meteor attacks as possible in a short time, because my main problem was not energy, but time.”
