Apex Legends – Season 12: New Legend Mad Maggie
With the rebellious warlord Mad Maggie, a new legend joins the games in Apex Legends – Season 12. The new character is aimed primarily at offensive players, who fight on the front line regardless of losses.
This is how Mad Maggie is able to, not only run faster with an equipped shotgun than all the other characters, but Marks counterparts at the same time, to which it has caused damage.
Her Tactics ability also fires a drill that can damage other players even Fire damage through obstacles inflicts fire damage. Another speed boost is provided by their Ultimate, which fires a bullet that Acceleration Pillow lays out and explodes near enemies.
So Mad Maggie is all about damage and speed. Her loadout is somewhat reminiscent of Octane, one of the most popular characters in Apex Legends. Especially the combination of speed boost with shotgun and ultimate should find some fans in Apex Legends – Season 12 and sometimes opens up completely new possibilities for movement or rotation around the maps.
Mad Maggie’s abilities at a glance
- Passive Ability: Warlord’s Rage – Mark enemies you have dealt damage to and run faster with a shotgun
- Tactics skill: Riot Drill – Fires a drill that burns enemies through obstacles
- Ultimate Ability: Wrecking Ball – Throws a bullet that creates acceleration cushions and explodes near enemies
This makes Mad Maggie excellent for driving out entrenched squads or, in combination with her increased speed, trapping fleeing opponents.

New map: Sabotaged Olympus
There’s no real new map with Apex Legends – Season 12, but fan-favorite Olympus but has some exciting innovations experienced and returns as Sabotaged Olympus. Talking to the developers, Respawn Entertainment revealed to us why Olympus needed an update.
This is mainly due to the round layout of the map, due to which mostly everything happened in the map center around Turbine and Hammond Labs. The new Olympus has been significantly extended to the south and also comes up with two exciting new POIs, which could noticeably change the gameplay.
Phase driver tempts with loot
With the sprawling Phase Driver the south of the map gets a new point where many players are likely to hang out. After all, the POI interactive and entices with high quality loot. Three panels await you on the device, each activation beckons a gold ball with golden equipment and another with purple or blue loot.
However, there is a 45-second cooldown per panel, which should make for intense battles for the loot
Terminal provides a breath of fresh air
With the Terminal there is also a brand new huge indoor area around the formerly open areas around the laboratories and bonsai plaza. It functions with five access points as a new central routing area on Olympus and could actually greatly change the nature of firefights on the map.
After all, the terminal on Sabotaged Olympus fundamentally changes the nature of movement and combat in the open areas while still being so well visiblethat approaching enemy squads and third parties can be detected early.
Further changes to Olympus
There is also a new terrain with the staggered floors, where existing areas such as the solar plant and the Icarus and Bonsai platforms have been moved from the center of Olympus.
Joining them are many minor changes, new paths, passages and ziplines, which fundamentally change the gameplay on the map. New objects cut off by a misguided experiment also create additional chaos on the map.
Due to the far-reaching changes, the new Olympus in Apex Legends – Season 12 must be relearned, which opens up many additional options and paths for pros and newcomers alike.
Also Twitch star Anne Ammunition had a lot of fun with Apex Legends in 2021. In her best of video she has summarized some highlights.
For the Apex Legends – Season 12 launch on February 08, there will also be a brand new game mode will be available, which will be called Control hears. Control starts as “LTM” and is thus only available for three weeks.
However, the developers told us that if the feedback from the community is positive, then Control will be available for a limited period of time, Will be permanently integrated into Apex Legends could.
Control marks the first major team game mode in the history of battle royale gaming and, much like Arena mode, provides a fresh feel to the game. The developers themselves describe the new mode as “Apex style gameplay, but significantly less stressful.”
For here stand two teams of nine players each face off in sub-areas of the Battle Royale maps to Control over three zones to take control of three zones. This is reminiscent of the classic Domination mode from the Call of Duty series, and not just on paper.
Holding a zone earns you for every second points. The more zones your team holds, the more points you get per second. The first team that 1,250 points wins. There are also temporary events during a game, where holding a zone provides bonus points or parachute drops bring new rewards.
However, there are more differences from the classic Battle Royale mode of Apex Legends:
In control there is a unlimited number of respawns, which makes the mode more beginner friendly and is a good place for newcomers to take their first steps in the game.
At the same time, each respawn gives you the option to switch to a different legend and adjust the loadout. Here are a total of five classes to choose from, where you can freely choose the visors.
New in Control: Legend Rating
Another new feature in control mode is the Legend rating represents. With useful actions such as capturing a zone, eliminating enemies or supporting your teammates, you’ll collect individual rating pointswhich you use to move up in rank.
The scores are divided into levels – blue, purple and gold. Each level is progressively more difficult to achieve, but also grants you more powerful weapons. With each new level, you’ll also gain your ultimate ability to use your Legend skills even more effectively. But be careful: if you die, your rating will be reset.
We have created the best objective-based game mode we can in Apex Legens.
With Apex Legends – Season 12 also hold some balancing changes Entering the game. Thus with Caustic the dominant legend of the past – Season somewhat toned down. For example, in that his traps now destroyed even after activation can be destroyed.
Crypto on the other hand gets a long overdue Buff, which opens up new possibilities for him in combination with his drone.
They are joined by a new hop-up called “Kinetic Feeder” for the Triple Take and Peacekeeper, which has it all. The idea behind it: When sliding, the weapons are automatically reloaded, while at the same time the recharge time is drastically reduced.
Kinetic Feeder was designed to encourage players to use the full range of Apex Movement in the middle of combat.
In addition, the popular hop-up “Hammerpoint Rounds” finally back and that besides the Mozambique and P2020 this time additionally for the RE-45. With this the three pistols as secondary weapons again much more interestingThey cause bonus damage against targets without shields.
There is also a change to the “Shatter Caps” Hop-Up for the 30-30 Repeater and Bocek Bow: With Apex Legends – Season 12, the associated shotgun mode will automatically activate when firing from the hip.
That is, if you aim from the front and rear sights, the weapons will behave normally and have additional range. If you aim from the hip, both guns behave like classic shotguns. This is very practical, because it opens up completely new possibilities within the meta.
