In Call of Duty: Warzone, you can use a few different tactics that will lead to victory in the end. However, not all of them lead to lots of kills. A pro team gives some tips on which strategies will get you a lot of kills.
What kind of team is this? CoD players Lymax, Mika and Zepa are considered to be one of the most talented, Australian squads in Call of Duty: Warzone. They now revealed in an interview with American gaming news site “Dexerto” what tactics they used to finish matches with extremely high kills.
In a Twitter post, for example, Lymax published their almost 20-minute round in which they got 78 kills together:
They don’t hold the world record, on YouTube you can find a video with 82 kills, but the numbers are impressive.
Pro tips for more kills – But you have to be good too
What do the pros recommend? Some tips from this will sound crazy to normal players, because it contradicts some of the tactics that are usually in batte royales. But high kill games also require high risk:
- Team splits to start
- Quick kills and straight to personal loadout
- Loadouts with a lot of speed
- Seek the fight
- Push together in the end game
The team’s complete tactics are designed for high kills and the soldiers are constantly looking for new victims and pushing for all they’re worth. Here are the points with explanations:
Everyone gets his own landing zone
The team splits up right at the start and flies to different landing spots. This gives them the opportunity to collect a lot of kills right at the start, as they also fly to zones where a lot of players usually come down:
- Always Atlas Superstore
- Always Zhokov Boneyard
- TV Station or Storage Town
Zepa said: “Regardless of the zone or [der Route] of the aircraft, these are the 3 spots where we always land. […] Most of the time you won’t see your team members until the end of the match.”
Superstore and Boneyard are set for the 3. Depending on the position of the circle, a player then heads for either the TV station, which is more centrally located, or the “Storage Town”, which is to the west of the Superstore. For this tactic, however, there are other really strong land spots that you could try out.

Action from the first second – For kills and loadout.
Get down fast, look around, grab a weapon and clear your entire landing pad. The team recommends full throttle to start. Before you land in the gulag for the first time, you should already get in as many kills as possible. If you all go down right at the start, end the match and try again. For a high kill match the kills at the start are inevitable. This is because a lot of players usually meet here.
A successful start will not only bring you a bunch of cash, but also a good feeling for the rest of the round. Zepa says about this:
Depending on how much money I have, I try to buy my loadout. […] I try to get the weapons that I like. Then if I have any money left, I try to get a reconnaissance drone to see enemies on the map. Then if I have anything left over, the next thing is self resurrection.

Personal loadouts with a lot of speed
The team is also taking a slightly different approach to loadouts. Instead of relying on sniper rifles, shotguns or rocket launchers to have the perfect answer ready for any situation, the 3 play with the all-round weapon M4A1 and the powerful MP5. The two weapons aren’t even among the best weapons in the warzone, but they bring a lot of flexibility.
To last through longer firefights and play aggressively, they need 2 weapons that they can switch through quickly and are similarly strong at close range. For longer distances, they then use the M4.
It’s a similar story for perks. For many players, the best warzone perks tend to be abilities that protect against detection. “Spirit” is high on the list, or “Cold Blooded.” But this team tends to choose Perks that give them an advantage in direct duels with opponents, or in escaping gas:
- Rush: Extends Tactics Sprint and makes it available again more quickly.
- Overkill: You can get 2 of your favorite weapons into the warzone at once.
- Eager: Faster weapon switching.
Zealous allows you to outplay teams better. Because of the extra speed, you can get around save corners faster or flank other teams better. “Overkill” gives you the option to choose a second main weapon with best attachments. Eager” allows you to switch to your secondary weapon more quickly, which can be worth its weight in gold in fights in tight spaces.
Goes into every fight
The team’s most important tip: Go into any fight! With your CQC loadouts, you’ll always be ready to take down an incoming opponent. Play fast, look for popping enemies on the map, and get involved in each other’s fights. Zepa says:
You just always have to take chances. If you die, you die. If you finish somebody off, it was worth it. If you die, you can be bought back or you just start a new game. High risk – high reward.
By the way, the team doesn’t advise activating orders, it takes too much time. Micka says: “All your money should come from kills. Assignments only take away your time to get more kills”. Although you can even see how the playing field is developing through an order, the team therefore keeps its hands off orders.
Push for victory as a team in the endgame
Then as the circle starts to close, the gameplay slows down a bit. Zepa says, “In the endgame, a lot of people are camping. So if you want to clear buildings, do it as a team, not alone.” So if the circle is already relatively small, reunite as a team and push the campers out of their hiding places.
To gain an advantage over the other teams, Micka recommends that you become especially familiar with CoD’s special and good movement:
Learning the movement of CoD helps a lot. […] There are a few ways to outplay opponents. You can “bunny hop”, “slide-cancel” around corners. Learning such tricks is essential, as it will allow you to land the first shots on the opponent. If you want a lot of kills, always keep moving and use the full Modern Warfare movement.
As a final tip, Lymax gives the following hint:
The ability to take out teams in 1vs3 is crucial. You need to know how to take out complete teams by yourself… Always push, but also be smart with the map. If you just run down the middle of the road, don’t expect to take out an entire team. You should always stay in cover while pushing.
With these tips, you’ll certainly get a few more kills in the warzone, but you’ll also need to be pretty good and hard-nosed to take out entire teams on your own. But if you really want to go hunting for records, you should consider a few suggestions from the Pro Team.
Then, to be best prepared for the high-kill matches, the best settings for the warzone will help you.
