The launch of FIFA Ultimate Team is accompanied by an introduction in which the first rudimentary team is built. To do this, users can choose from one of nine nations that make up the core of the team. We recommend choosing either Brazil or France, since even among the common gold cards there are players that form a good base for the start.
Following the starter pack, users choose their crest and home and away jerseys from nine different choices – these have no impact on gameplay per se and can be chosen at will. Finally, a position can be chosen, which EA will swap for one of five loan players – these have a limited number of appearances and add significant value to the starting team. Thus, the first team is ready for the first challenges.
It is then important to complete the challenges, which can be done quickly and are rewarded with the first (untradable) packs and coins. These include lining up players correctly and providing them and the manager they receive with contracts, as well as renaming the FUT club. After completing a Squad Battle match, in which the opponent is controlled by the AI and has different difficulty levels, the overall package of basic challenges is complete.
FUT 22: Tips for beginners – missions and SBCs
The missions listed under “Foundation” in particular provide a good basis for familiarizing yourself with the customs of FIFA Ultimate Team and collecting more coins and packs along the way, which in turn can be used to add potentially strong cards to the team. In general, it is recommended to complete all missions in this category.
Other missions, such as those covered under Milestones or – Season al Goals, are intended as long-term goals and – assuming regular play – are completed virtually in passing. A certain amount of perseverance pays off here: the rewards for 250 goals scored, for example, are naturally much more lucrative than after the first ten.
With the cards collected up to this point, the first Squad Building Challenges (SBCs) can now be completed. SBCs are puzzles in which up to eleven players can be traded for special cards or higher value packs. The players handed in have to meet certain requirements – for example, the number of nations and leagues allowed may be limited to a certain number or even have to be exactly matched.
The starting point of the SBCs is always the “Let’s get started” category, where players can familiarize themselves with the basics of the puzzles. Once these three tasks are completed, a variety of other SBCs quickly unlock, which are significantly more crunchy to solve, but are extremely lucrative and justify the necessary investment of the matching cards again. Especially the categories “Hybrid Nations”, “Hybrid Leagues” and “League/Nation Hybrid” should be mentioned here, which promise packs in the high five-digit value range as a reward.

No matter if it’s a SBC solution or the reinforcement of your own team, the transfer market will probably be the second most visited portal besides the actual gameplay. After all, in addition to the players you need, you can also sell your own cards here to turn a lucky pack draw into a profit again.
Especially when only a few players are missing to solve one of the SBC puzzles, the filter system, which has been significantly improved in recent years, is of importance. Here, from card quality to nationality and league, it is possible to set exactly which card is searched for up to which price.
Selling your own cards also runs through this hub. With the push of a button, you can search for the cards you want to sell via the transfer list and put them on the market at the desired starting bid as well as buy-it-now price. Duplicates can also be placed directly on this list, since the club itself never allows more than one copy of a player.
