WotLK Classic: The advantages of alchemy

As a blacksmith in WotLK you make armor and weapons, lock picks, but also rods for enchanters. Exclusive are the additional sockets that you can build in gloves and bracers:

• Bracers socket: Permanently attach a socket to your bracers. Requires a level 60 or higher item. You cannot add more than one additional socket to an item. You can only attach sockets to your own armor, and attaching a socket causes it to become soulbound. The pedestal requires a blacksmithing skill of 400 or it will become inactive.
• Glove Socket: Permanently attach a pedestal to your gloves. Requires a level 60 or higher item. No more than one additional socket can be added to an item. You can only attach sockets to your own armor, and attaching a socket causes it to become soulbound. The pedestal requires a blacksmithing skill of 400 or it will become inactive.

A third pedestal slot is available thanks to the Eternal belt buckleHowever, it does not require a blacksmithing skill. You can therefore sell them to other players. All other items that blacksmiths can produce are not bound until they are created and can therefore be traded.
