League of Legends: leaves G2 and the LEC

Just a year ago, Swedish star Martin “Rekkles” Larsson joined Team G2 Esports and now he is already moving on. This year things didn’t go so well for the most successful organization in European League of Legends history. The team missed the finals in both LEC splits and failed to qualify for the World Championship for the first time in its history.

Rekkles will compete for Karmine Corp next – Season after his departure. As a result, he will no longer be seen in the LEC, but in the French league LFL. Reportedly, Karmine Corp paid a transfer fee of over one million US dollars to get the Swedish star player. His teammate Martin “Wunder” Hansen also had to say goodbye to G2.

League of Legends: Wunder, Humanoid and Razork at Fnatic

Fnatic signed three new players for their own roster in the coming year. A transfer fee had to be paid for both Wunder and Marek “Humanoid” Brázda. Like Rekkles, the Danish top laner was discarded from G2 Esports and moved to rival Fnatic for an alleged transfer fee of around 600,000 euros.

The Czech mid laner Humanoid, on the other hand, came from the MAD Lions. As a new jungler Fnatic could win the Spaniard Iván “Razork” Martín Díaz. He previously played for Misfits Gaming. At Fnatic he replaces Gabriel “Bwipo” Rau.

League of Legends: Team Vitality grabs Perkz, Carzzy and Alphari

Team Vitality also snagged three big names from the western LoL scene. New to the roster for the 2022 LEC year are Luka “Perkz” Perković, Matyáš “Carzzy” Orság and Barney “Alphari” Morris. The new additions are expected to help the French organization achieve renewed success in League of Legends. Vitality only finished tenth and sixth in this year’s LEC.

Both Perkz and Alphari are returning to Europe after not just one year. Previously they played in the North American LCS. Team Vitality had to pay a transfer fee for both players, as Perkz and Alphari still had contracts with Cloud9 and Team Liquid respectively until November 2023. Carzzy joins Team Vitality after winning two LEC splits with the MAD Lions.

FIFA: David Beckham brings nicolas99fc into the team

Argentine Gonzalo “nicolas99fc” Nicolás Villalba has joined David Beckham’s esports team Guild Esports. Next year nicolas99fc will compete for the team and show his skills in FIFA. Previously, he played for FC Basel until mid-October. However, the Swiss had to part with nicolas99fc, as the Esports department was outsourced for economic reasons.

Soccer star David Beckham is a shareholder in the Guild Esports organization. The English superstar has been involved in the esports market since last summer. Other footballers such as Gareth Bale, Mesut Özil and Antoine Griezmann have also already discovered the potential of the growing esports market.

CS:GO: Astralis parts ways with dupreeh and Magisk

After the disappointing results at the PGL Major Stockholm 2021, there are changes in the CS:GO roster of Astralis. Players Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen and Emil “Magisk” Hoffmann Reif, as well as coach Danny “zonic” Selim Sørensen, will be leaving the organization. During their time with Astralis, the two professionals won several Major trophies and numerous other titles. However, the team has not been able to build on old successes in the past two years.

Magisk and dupreeh will leave Astralis after their contracts expire. The successors of the two players have already been determined. Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke and Benjamin “blameF” Vang Bremer have been playing for the organization since November. The team has also already found a new coach. Alexander “ave” Holdt has been signed on as the new coach.

VALORANT: Nivera turns its back on CS:GO

Nabil “Nivera” Benrlitom had announced during the year to change not only the team, but also the game right away. Since September he plays together with his brother Adil “ScreaM” Benriltom in VALORANT for Team Liquid. Both were previously pros in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and are now among the top players in ’ shooter.

Nivera played for Team Vitality before his move and won two major CS:GO events with the organization. In VALORANT, he is trying to continue and even surpass that success. At VALORANT Champions 2021 in early December, the most important tournament of the year, the Belgian reached the semi-finals with Team Liquid.

Overwatch: Superstar Patiphan Chaiwong returns

Patiphan began his career in Overwatch 2018 and was considered an up-and-coming superstar. At the age of 15, he participated in the Overwatch World Cup for Thailand. However, he had not had the required minimum age of 18 for the Overwatch League and therefore switched to VALORANT.

Despite a strong showing at VALORANT Champions 2021 with his team X10 CRIT, Patiphan decided to return to Overwatch in December. There, the young player will compete for the Los Angeles Gladiators. These are to expand his opportunities outside of Southeast Asia. Next year in April the OWL will start, where Patiphan wants to prove his skills.
