Who is the new digital face of the DFB? In an interview with esports.com, Simon explains “xpazzoo” Walter his new role, gets us fired up for the DFB-ePokal powered by ERGO and also talks about his chances with the team at the event.

A footballer with passion for the virtual turf

Simon “xpazzoo” Walter is a FIFA sportsman at B360 and also plays soccer for FC Denzlingen in the Verbandsliga – position: attacker. In five games he has shown that he can score with three goals.

But he also lives out his passion for soccer virtually. At B360 he is listed in the squad alongside names like Bomber_Yuksel and Obefemimoebus. He also competes with the team at the DFB ePokal powered by ERGO an. The declared goal: “There is definitely the title defense in it.” Because last year B360 won the cup under the name Celtic Worms.

In addition to his career on the real and virtual pitch, he will now also become the new face of the digital offensive at the DFB. As part of the DFB-ePokal powered by ERGO, he will guide viewers through the event. In the future, xpazzoo will host the DFB’s Twitch channel, take care of events such as the eNations Cup, and also work with the kickers of the DFB selection.

However, he no longer needs to get tips from them for the DFB-ePokal. The 24-year-old is particularly comfortable in pressure situations. And maybe that’s why the knockout mode in the ePokal suits him so well: “I think the knockout principle is cool. So in every matchup, it’s either you’re there or you’re gone.”

Whether he can now lead his hometown soccer club to the title on the console remains to be seen. It has already been enough to make it to the main round – and there he will have to deliver with his team in order to stand up to the best FIFA players in Germany.
