The winter transfer window is almost over and some moves from the football world are confirmed. We show you the most important transfers and tell you how they affect FIFA 22.
The winter transfer window in football and the top 5 leagues (Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1) traditionally starts on January 1st. Then until 31.01. Players are bought and sold.
So that you don’t lose track of the winter changes in FIFA 22, we’ll show you the biggest and most important transfers and also give an outlook on the effects of the change.
Just for info: We stick to the boys and girls from transfermarkt.com when it comes to transfer news .
The main winter transfers
Things are really happening: Juve sign Vlahovic, Liverpool sign Luis Diaz, Inter Gosens, Sevilla Martial and Adama Traore joins Barca! Deadline Day also brought a number of transfers. Tottenham and Juve have been very active and are shaking up their squad again.
The 21-year-old Spaniard Ferran Torres moves from Manchester City to FC Barcelona for around 55 million euros. Not a bad newcomer. Incidentally, Torres was trained at FC Valencia before he went to England in the summer of 2020. So now it’s back home.
We were really excited to see where Christian Eriksen would end up. The Dane loses his right to play in Italy because of his cardiac arrest and the subsequent surgery. It is now clear where the journey is headed: he will become a superstar at FC Brentford and want to stay up with the club.

What the winter changes mean for FIFA 22
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo dominated the headlines in the summer. Both Superstars made the switch and both got their Ones to Watch cards . For the winter transfers, however, we do not expect any special or special cards.
Similar to the Golden Boy it would be pretty cool to have extra cards – but maybe in the future. After the TOTY in FIFA 22 , the Future Stars are already waiting . This leaves little time and space for winter transfer cards.
But the big winter update still causes changes in FUT and also in career mode, because the clubs are adjusted. That’s why we still show you what that means for FIFA for the most important changes.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in FIFA 22 – move to Barca is fixed
The Gunners and Auba made it exciting for a long time. It is now clear that the 32-year-old attacker will go to FC Barcelona. There he should help to save the – Season . A fee will probably not be due, Arsenal have prematurely terminated the contract with him (which would have expired anyway).
Dele Alli in FIFA 22
Everton really hit it on Deadline Day. Not only Alli could be brought…
Donny van de Beek in FIFA 22
…but also van de Beek. So the midfield of the toffees is now really nice!
Tanguy Ndombele in FIFA 22
The move to Lyon may take away his PL links, but if he shows strong performances we might see him more often in the TOTW. That would be noble.
Denis Zakaria in FIFA 22
For the ZDM it goes from Gladbach to Juve. Could bring a rating upgrade, the change. At least when he performs in a Piemonte Calcio jersey.
Max Kruse in FIFA 22
As a Bundesliga fan, you don’t really have to understand the change, do you? From the current Europa League candidate to the relegation candidate… not to mention tradition and commerce.
Dušan Vlahović and FIFA 22
The boy is going full throttle this year and has already earned a POTM in Serie A in FIFA 22. Let’s see if he continues at Juventus/Piemonte Calcio as he did at Fiorentina.
Adam Traore in FIFA
From the Premier League to Barca. The Spaniard could hit that. There might even be an upgrade for him if he performs properly.
Luis Diaz in FIFA 22
You can also hope for an upgrade in winter with him . At Liverpool he is now making the wings even stronger. Nice!
Ferran Torres in FIFA 22
The Spaniard gets other opportunities to be linked thanks to his league change (La Liga instead of Premier League). In addition, a move to Barca and the attention it brings could lead to a rating increase. But he would have to hit the ground running immediately.
Christian Eriksen in FIFA 22
Let’s see where the Dane goes. In Italy he is no longer allowed to play for Inter Milan. Unfortunately, it was no longer enough for a top club. He is staying at Brentford FC.
Cedric Bakambu in FIFA
The lightning-fast striker (90 pace) is back in a top league at a great club. Do it like Modeste, go off and get one or two great informs from OM. Would be so nice.
Kieran Trippier in FIFA 22
Sheikh club Newcastle upgrades and gets the strong full-back. Trippier will definitely help the Magpies. In FUT he comes back to the Premier League and can be relinked.
Philippe Coutinho in FIFA 22
Coutinho could have had relegation battle at Barca too… ok, kidding. Seriously though, sick that this guy just gambles at Aston Villa right now, isn’t it? Maybe he can stand out and recommend himself for a TOTW again …
When are winter transfers coming to FUT?
In FIFA 21, the big update of Winter Changes in Ultimate Team didn’t come until February 10th. Almost as a harbinger of the Winter Refresh promotional campaign, EA provided new, unadapted FUT cards.
Papu Gomez, for example, switched from Atalanta to Sevilla and received an 86, the highest gold card awarded in the winter. Or Luka Jovic, who went back to Eintracht on loan from Real and could then be reintegrated into Bundesliga FUT teams.
FIFA 22 – FUTs
What could be cooler than just relaxed gaming and doing some sofa sports on the side? In FIFA 22, the player is on the move fast, but without getting sore muscles. With the Ultimate Team Event cards, the collecting instinct is now also satisfied. However, the FUT Heroes keep creeping into my mind, so here are the best Ultimate Team Event cards that are definitely worth adding to your collection.
Heroes cards selected by EA for top qualities
Admittedly, the FUT heroes will cost quite a bit of coin, but it turns out that EA has once again brought some top-class players into the game when it comes to selection. As a collector and hunter, it’s an added attraction for FIFA gamers to now include their own favorite heroes in the portfolio and benefit from their individual skills. Both in the game and in team building, the FUTs will revolutionize the game once again.
EA SPORTS FC: FIFA GAME SERIES TO BE CONTINUED UNDER NEW NAME
Of course, the soccer simulation game series will not be discontinued completely. After FIFA 23, EA will relaunch the game under the name EA Sports FC and market it independently. Old FIFA hares should now become quite an ear, after all, the EA Sports Football Club used to be a part of the actual game for years. A lot of playing was rewarded, points could be collected and items, boosts or balls for the individual game modes could be unlocked.
In this context, there could also be a complete revolution of the classic game. There is a heated discussion in the FIFA community about whether the game, which is expected to be released in the fall of 2023, will be free-to-play. This option is said to be on the table for the game makers from EA, because: It seems that EA earns most of its money with the purchases of FIFA Points in the game mode Ultimate Team and not with the sale of the game itself.
