Cosmic Flux in World of Warcraft is annoying – Blizzard realizes that too. The droprate has been increased by 100% from many sources.
A big criticism of WoW: Shadowlands is the amount of different currencies with nested uses – if you haven’t been there from the beginning or have – Season ed veterans in your circle of friends, you can hardly see through all the currencies.
“Cosmic Flux” is especially important, as many end-game abilities are related to it. Blizzard has now drastically simplified the farming of it.
What do you need Cosmic Flux for? Cosmic Flux currently serves a number of functions in World of Warcraft.
On the one hand, you need the Flux to create legendary items, and on the other hand, it is the necessary “fuel” to fire the Creation Catalyst, which converts high-value equipment into tier set parts. Therefore, basically all characters need Cosmic Flux, because every now and then items are converted into Tier Set parts.
New in – Season 4 is also the possibility to buy all media for the Soul Band directly at level 278 – but for that you have to own a proud 10,000 Flux.
WoW: Parasitic systems and how they make our MMORPGs worse
How to get cosmic flux? Cosmic Flux is available from many different sources. The largest amounts can be found in Torghast or from “Mythic+” dungeons, but smaller amounts can also be found in PvP, in crates from Zereth Mortis or daily missions there.
Flux is now much easier.
What has been changed now? Blizzard has increased the amounts of cosmic flux from many sources by a whopping 100% – that is, doubled it – with a hotfix. This affects the following game content:
- PvP Rewards (Battlegrounds, Arena)
- Mythic+
- Raids
What are the consequences of this? The result of this change should be that Cosmic Flux is much easier to earn “on the side” while playing content that is relevant anyway. After all, – Season 4 is all about the raids and dungeons that entice you with new, upgraded gear.
So a lot of players simply don’t feel like hanging out forever on Zereth Mortis or even in Torghast, only to be more efficient in other areas then.
Keep in mind that Blizzard already added an option to move cosmic flux from one character to another a few weeks ago. While some flux is lost in the process, most players are likely to have accumulated very large amounts of flux on their main character.
What do you think of this change? Good and reasonable? Or is it still too much effort to collect the flux?
