CoD Warzone: Operation Monarch – All Info
When does the event start? Operation Monarch goes online on Wednesday, May 11, at 6pm. The limited event mode will remain in the playlist for 2 weeks.
How does the Event Mode work? Played in teams of 4 using the rules for Resurrection mode. 60 players compete to win and a team is not out until all team members have been wiped out. The last team standing wins.
On the way to victory you can resort to especially great tools. You collect points for a kind of “Titan Meter”. You get the points from loot boxes, special equipment deliveries and killed enemies.
As the Titan Meter slowly fills up, you’ll receive powerful items like killstreaks and loadout crates from time to time. When the bar is full, you will receive a S.C.R.E.A.M. device:
With this device you can summon a monstrous killstreak. Choose the attack of King Kong or Godzilla and direct their power at your enemies.
There is another way to get the extremely powerful monster killstreak. The Titans go into a “frenzy” during the match and go a little crazy.
During these stages, the damage on the monsters counts. The team that has done the most damage to the critters at the end of the frenzy also gets a S.C.R.E.A.M. device.
Is there also normal Battle Royale during the event? If you don’t like the event, you don’t have to play. The normal Battle Royale modes will also be online and you won’t be forced to mess with the monsters.
What are the rewards? When you complete a task, you get themed Cosmetics:
- Play Operation Monarch for 6 hours: Ancestral Skull – Talisman
- Use monster killstreak once: Ancient Remains – Talisman
- Use Monster Killstreak three times: Monarch Eyes Only – Talisman
- 500,000 damage to monsters: Concrete Jungle – Sticker
- 135,000 Damage to Kong in Frenzy: Team Godzilla – Emblem
- 135,000 to Godzilla Frenzy: Team Kong – Emblem
- 3,000 Monarch points: Skyline Crasher – business card
- 12 times in the Top 15: One Will Fall – Spray
What else does the event bring to the game? Besides the insane event mode, new cosmetic bundles are coming to the store, with matching monster theme. The skin bundle with the blue Godzilla skin is already online, the trailer for the bundle is available on YouTube (via youtube.com).
What happens after the event? Operation Monarch will run for 2 weeks. The devastation of the two monsters may cause more damage to the warzone map. Already at the start of – Season 3, a lot of things have changed on Caldera and there might be more to come.
The – Season 3 roadmap announces at mid– Season that there are more secrets to discover in the underground of Caldera. An official teaser indicates that the surface is no longer safe (via twitter.com).
This could mean that Mid– Season 3 will start right after the event and bring more map adjustments.
We’ll embed the preview of the upcoming playlists here:
Operation Monarch has the potential to become a flagship event of Warzone. But it remains to be seen whether it can confirm the high expectations.
As soon as there is new info and more details, we will update the article accordingly.
