The Vargo 52 is an assault rifle with a good rate of fire and otherwise very balanced stats. With these stats, it is very well suited as an all-rounder and accordingly does not require a submachine gun or shotgun as a secondary weapon. However, unlocking the Vargo 52 is a bit of a strange affair – it is a Black Ops Cold War weapon, but can also be unlocked in Modern Warfare…

How to unlock the Vargo 52

As mentioned before, unlocking the Vargo 52 is a bit strange, which could be due to the fact that the weapon could be unlocked before its official release. At that time, it was not visible in the game and could be unlocked exclusively in Modern Warfare 2019, although it is actually a Black Ops Cold War weapon. Now the weapon is officially available and can be unlocked via challenges in BOCW, but the detour via Modern Warfare is still possible and probably even the fastest way… Here we have all the ways how you can unlock the Vargo 52:

• BOCW Multipalyer: Do at least 1000 damage with assault rifles in 15 different matches. To be safe, you should do about 15-20 kills per match and you must finish every match or it won’t count for the challenge.
• BOCW Zombies: Make 750 kills with an assault rifle that has been leveled up three times on the Pack-a-Punch machine.
• MW2019 Multiplayer: Do at least 1000 damage with assault rifles in 15 different matches. Again, we recommend doing 15-20 kills to be on the safe side. However, in Modern Warfare you don’t have to finish the matches, but after you have collected enough kills, you can simply leave the match and start the next one.

Since the Vargo 52 is a BOCW weapon, it is logically not displayed in the Modern Warfare menu. So if you complete the challenge in Modern Warfare, you will need to switch to Black Ops Cold War after you have completed the 15 matches and check the Weapons menu there to see if the Vargo 52 has been unlocked.

The best Vargo 52 setup

When it comes to the setup for the Vargo 52, we stick to a very typical assault rifle build for Black Ops Cold War. With these attachments we get the best out of the new assault rifle:

• Muzzle: GRU Silencer
• Barrel: 18.6″ Special Command
• Sight: Axial Arms 3x
• Underbarrel: Speznas handle
• Ammunition: 45-round magazine

With this setup, we get a very potent assault rifle that is mostly suitable for medium to long distances. With the barrel and the silencer, we maximize the range and bullet speed, while at the same time not showing up on the minimap. The Speznas grip helps with recoil control and the large magazine is of course mandatory so we’re not constantly just reloading. As always, the choice is yours when it comes to the sights, but we love the Axial Arms, which is perfect for medium to long distances. If you like, you can also use the Microflex LED.

Since the official release, the Vargo 52 has been unlockable via Modern Warfare 2019 and BOCW but only playable in Black Ops Cold War. However, we expect it to be available in Warzone soon as well. Until then, here are the best weapons in Warzone for you.
