From January 14, 2022, the Swiss organization BDS will be mixing it up in the European League of Legends top division. Team BDS has now presented the definitive roster for 2022.
Team BDS takes over the slot from Schalke 04 Esports in the LEC. They paid an incredible 26.5 million for it. BDS not only takes over the slot, they also acquire two players who played for Schalke: Support Dino “LIMIT” Tot and Mid-Laner Illias “NUCLEARINT” Bizriken.
The star of the team is probably clearly the top laner Adam “Adam” Maanane. He already played in the LEC in the summer, with Fnatic. Fnatic reached the finals in the regular – Season and were then allowed to travel to the World Championship. The jungler is Jakub “Cinkrof” Rokicki and the AD carry is Matthew “xMatty” Coombs. These two players previously played together on the successful French team Karmine Corp, which won both European Masters in 2021. In addition, xMatty was replaced by none other than Martin “Rekkles” Larsson.

The head coach of BDS has been known since the end of November: It is Fabian “GrabbZ” Lohmann. The coaching staff also includes a “Head Analyst” Christopher “Duffmann” Duff. Both have previously worked successfully for G2 Esports for several years.
The LEC 2022 Spring – Season kicks off on January 14 with a “Super Weekend.” This means three days of hard-fought games. On March 25, the Spring Split Playoffs will begin, followed by the finals on April 9. As already announced, the LEC will not tour Europe during the Spring – Season . All deciding games will be played without a live audience in Berlin.
The MAD Lions were able to win the Spring and Fall – Season in 2021. For a long time, Fnatic and MAD Lions were evenly matched, but MAD Lions always came out on top when it mattered. Fnatic will probably go all out to be even stronger in those crucial moments next – Season . And then there’s G2 Esports. They narrowly failed to qualify for a World Championship for the first time in 2021. That has caused fundamental changes in G2. Can they usher in a new era in 2022?
You also can’t forget about teams like Rogue. In 2021, the team gained incredible momentum and only fell short of the finish line. Misfits Gaming is also always good for a surprise. And what about Excel, SK, Vitality and Astralis? Or will the Swiss newcomer Team BDS make it to the top?
We’re looking forward to an interesting Spring Split 2022, with all the action live on LoLesports.com from January 14.
