Hydralisk
The peaceful herbivorous herds of Slothien have been assimilated by the Zerg swarm to produce one of the most savage and fiendish Zerg races ever. The caterpillar Slothiens’ evolution matrix was so overloaded by the Overmind that the unfortunate creatures transformed into the nightmarish killers now known as Hydralisks. The once-gentle creatures now hunger for blood and violence, and are notorious for their particularly ferocious ways.
The thin, snake-like hydralisks bear hundreds of armor-piercing spikes on the upper part of their carapace. These are special further developments of the stinging hairs adapted to the new circumstances, with which the Slothien defended themselves. They use powerful muscle contractions to fire barbed salvoes that can hit air and ground units.
Hydralisks are particularly fond of stalking their prey. Groups of them have been seen burrowing into the ground along paths used by civilian workers, only to spring out again when they sense an enemy nearby. Hydralisk ambush attacks, in which they burrow in, are one of their favorite tactics, displaying a preference for only beginning their attack once the opponent has passed them, or encircling a group of enemies to get them to be destroyed in a deadly crossfire.
Thanks to a Hydralisk’s remarkable musculature (4,000 muscles compared to a Terran’s 629), their spikes pack amazing power. Even at maximum range, a single spike can easily penetrate 2cm of solid Neosteel. Under all circumstances, crowds of Hydralisks should be countered with extreme caution and preferably with armor support.

ZERG
General Information
The Zerg are arguably the youngest race in the Starcraft universe, but as suddenly as they appeared, so rapidly did their numbers and power grow. With sharp claws, teeth and tusks, these savage beasts charge at their opponents and fight to the death without rhyme or reason. This boundless brutality and great willingness to sacrifice, combined with their large numbers, makes almost every opponent tremble.
Even though the organic building structures grow out of order and the attacks of the zerg hordes seem unplanned, it is known that they are commanded by a powerful being – the Overmind – with the help of psi powers. Since the Overmind is under Terran control, its most powerful creation – the assimilation Sarah Kerrigan – has seized command of the swarms.
