COLOSSUS DESCRIPTION
The Towering Colossus is a robotic unit developed by the Protoss, dating back to the bloody conflicts of the Kalath Intercession. He strides across the battlefield on his four long legs, which give him an extremely high degree of mobility. Thanks to its enormous size, this machine can negotiate cliffs or steep terrain without too much difficulty, which at the same time gives it an optimal firing position.
Mounted on the Colossus’ heavily armored hull are two powerful thermal cannons, one mounted on either side. These shoot 5 beams forward at regular intervals so that they form a line across the line of sight of the colossus. The colossus can easily kill Zerglings or other smaller units, and buildings cannot withstand its fire for long.
The Colossus is unusual in that it was designed solely as a war machine. Most of the robotic units developed by the Protoss are used in industry or for resource mining. Even the much-dreaded Predator was originally conceived as a mobile manufacturing unit responsible for the manufacture of Scarabdrons for long-range bombardment. The devastating carnage wrought upon the Kalathi by the wandering colossi horrified the Protoss.
At that time, the conclaves banned the manufacture of the colossi, and existing machines were disabled and sealed away in remote asteroids and uninhabited moons. Centuries later, these machines of destruction rose again on the battlefield in the war against the Zerg.

General Information
With their advanced technologies, the Protoss manage to spread fear and terror throughout the Starcraft universe. A variety of different combat robots, as well as some specially trained fighters who possess psi powers, are available to the Protoss in their battles against other forces. However, these also have their price, the training of fighters and upgrading with robots, not only devours vast amounts of resources, but also costs a lot of time.
The Protoss are considered the oldest and most developed race, but their old culture also has disadvantages. The Protoss naturally see themselves as autocrats and do not adapt to the new dangers, they remain in their rigid caste system and preserve the strict hierarchy in their culture at all costs.
