Avengers
The Avengers are cold-blooded Terran criminals hailing from the most dangerous and violent prisons. Individuals who are actually suitable as space marines and who prove to be too rebellious even after resocialization are transferred to the “Ice House” in the Torus system, where they are trained to become avengers.
Avenger soldiers undergo a chemical treatment to make them even more aggressive before undergoing weeks of relentless training in hand-to-hand combat and the use of their jump jets. An avenger who survives two years of service is pardoned and acquitted, having paid his debt to society. In the five years of its existence, the Avenger Corps has not had a single soldier survive more than six months.
True to their creed of “Strike fast and mercilessly,” Avengers wield two fully automatic Gauss pistols in combat. In order to be able to hold their own against more heavily armored opponents, many avengers are also equipped with the extremely unstable Deuterium-8 grenades, also known as D-8 grenades. These can be thrown at a target over short distances and detonate after an even shorter delay time. Proper handling of D-8 grenades is a skill that needs to be learned, and few soldiers live long enough to practice it.
Avengers are only lightly armored, making them unsuitable for direct firefights. The key to their success lies in their jump jets. These jets give the Avenger a high degree of mobility and the ability to easily jump over drops, rivers, deep chasms and other obstacles. The Avengers’ combat techniques focus primarily on sudden raids with quick retreats, preferably against enemy building complexes and work details. Used this way, the Avenger can deal maximum damage and retreat before the enemy can even strike back.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the use of stimpacks is gaining popularity among the Avengers. The dangerous mix of battle-enhancing chemicals complements their rapid attack strategy perfectly, and any long-term side effects are deliberately ignored by these elite soldiers.

TERRAN
General Information
The Terrans can neither boast impressive technologies nor unbeatable masses, they seem to be the least dangerous race in the Starcraft universe. However, this is also their strength, often underestimated by the enemy, they can attack from ambush and thus take advantage of the surprise effect. The Terran forces are often formed from prisoners who want to shorten their sentence. These fighters, assigned to the infantry, are often poorly trained, but have an iron will to fight. Smaller war machines, such as the infamous tanks, are often used to support the foot troops.
The Terrans’ greatest enemy seems to be the Terrans themselves: Shattered by internal conflicts and wars, the Terrans have never been able to form a cohesive army to reach their full potential.
