Horace Warfield
For a man so deeply involved in the darker and mysterious sides of the Terran League, Horace Warfield had a relatively ordinary childhood. He was born in the Tarsonian coastal town of Kithrup, the youngest son of Shae and Henry Warfield. His parents both worked for the local hospital: his father as an administrator and his mother a neurosurgeon.
Some suggest that this environment of life-and-death bureaucracy may have influenced his career. Records of Warfield being abused as a child circulating among scattered Tarsonian refugees have never been found, but enough disjointed chunks of information exist to give some credence to the possibility. His older brother and sister also pursued careers in the medical field, and there is no certainty as to why young Horace Warfield chose to join the Confederate Marincorps or how his family reacted. Tragically, all other Warfield family members were on Tarsonis during the first Zer invasion. There is no evidence that any of them escaped. They are believed to be dead.
Warfield climbed through the Confederate military range at breathtaking speed. He received commendations from his superiors for courage, tactical brilliance, and decisive leadership of his force. He served in two stages of the Guild Wars and was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel as the tour neared its end. It was early in his career, on the contested planet Sonyan, that he met Arcturus Mengsk. Arcturus Mengsk was captain of the 33rd Ground Division in which Horace Warfield first fought, and the captain recognized the recruit’s ability to keep his cool as a reflection of Arcturus Mengsk’s own strategic skills. During a heated battle in the South Kreen mines, Horace Warfield led an assault on a bunker. He caught three bullets in the shoulder, but in doing so secured an important position. Horace Warfield quickly became first lieutenant under Arcturus Mengsk, and veterans of the 33rd still speak of the good camaraderie that formed between the two men over the course of that first year. Near the end of the Guild Wars, Arcturus Mengsk chose a different path from the military path Horace Warfield had chosen, but the two kept in touch.
In the years that followed, Horace Warfield was deployed less in war zones and more in peacekeeping in the Confederate zone. His dislike of the Confederacy grew during the bombing of Korhal. He was in the Mar Sara system at the time he heard about this genocide and some say he resigned that minute. His command ship, the heavy cruiser Iron Justice, severed all contact with the surrounding military networks and remained silent. The crew members were handpicked from among Horace Warfield’s most loyal officers – they followed their leader into the darkness.
After this incident, there is only vague information about Horace Warfield. Branded a deserter by the Confederate military, Warfield was pursued across the Mar Sara system and beyond. No one can say for sure how he reestablished contact with Arcturus Mengst. However, in the early months of the sons of Korhal’s formation, Horace Warfield quietly directed their bold attacks on the Confederacy. His explosive knowledge of the government’s military strength, positions and movements was invaluable to the rebellion’s success. Some say it was his knowledge that was instrumental in obtaining the psi emitter on Mar Sara – as was his use on Tarsonis.
When the Terran League took over the sector, the now General Warfield was seen as one of the new Emperor’s most trusted advisers. Mengsk entrusted Warfield with the most important tasks, missions and lists. It is said that before his death on Korhal, General Edmund Duke referred to Warfield as “the other brat of Mengsk”. He said this because Warfield wasn’t fighting the Zerg menace in Augustgrad, as he held a certain privileged status in his leader’s eyes.
Warfield ended his service in 2501. He served in some of the most historic battles in the Terran occupation of the Koprulu Sector. But his military days were not over. The latest Zerg movements in Terran League territory alarmed Emperor Mengsk enough to call his old comrade back into service. General Horace Warfield now has the knockout

Campaigns in general
In Starcraft 2, as in the first part, there is a single player mode. In this mode you play the campaigns of each race. On this page you will find the individual missions of the campaigns which we summarize as a walkthrough.
All three campaigns will be released as single games. These will be released in intervals of about 1-2 years and have the following titles.
Wings of Liberty – Terran Campaign
Heart of the Swarm – Zerg Campaign
Legacy of the Void – Protoss Campaign
All three campaigns have a story mode and a game mode. In the story mode, as you know it from role-playing games, you play from the point of view of a character, e.g. Jim Raynor, with whom you get information about planets, units or the story. Here you’ll also make important decisions that will determine the course of the game’s story. It can happen that you only see some cutscenes if you have completed a certain mission sequence. You can also postpone some missions and complete them later. There are also decisions in the story mode that have an effect on the missions. For example, you decide which units will be used for a particular mission. The missions are designed so that you can complete them using different tactics.
Story (Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty) The story of StarCraft II Wings of Liberty continues the saga and takes place four years after the events of StarCraft: Brood War. The storyline features familiar characters such as Jim Raynor or Kerrigan, but new heroes such as Tychus J. Findlay or Matt Horner also play a role.
However, the campaigns of the three races are completely different. In Wings of Liberty you have to earn money through missions to reinforce your troops. As far as the story is concerned, you are Jim Raynor with the Raynor Raiders fighting against the League. The Zerg, on the other hand, have no money problems and there is no need to buy expensive technologies. The Zerg campaign itself is more role-playing oriented and you act from Kerrigan’s point of view. The Protoss campaign is mainly about diplomacy.
