Egon Stettman
When Egon Stetmann began his career at the Terran League research facility on Tyrador III, he found himself surrounded by like-minded, equally young and idealistic colleagues, most of whom shared his belief that their generation could hope for a brighter future for the Whole Koprulu sector worked.
Divided into different teams and scattered throughout the large research facility, these ambitious new researchers went to work on different tasks. Working with the brilliant Isabella Yorin, Stetmann was commissioned to build a portable ionized gas force field similar to that of the Protoss plasma shields, albeit without the aid of a psi field generator. Believing that the invention would have both military and civilian uses, Stetmann dedicated himself to the project and created a working prototype in just a few months.
Egon Stettman
As time passed, Stetmann realized that his commission was part of a much larger project that was strictly for military purposes and was extremely immoral to use. After his security rating was raised due to his successes with the force field, Stetmann was able to observe test subjects being forced to endure gruesome operations. During these gruesome operations, bones and organs were replaced with artificial components in hopes of producing cybernetically enhanced elite warriors. In the late stages of the experiments, Stetmann’s prototype force field was to be surgically added to these individuals, which would have allowed them to generate their own protective shield. Most disturbing was the fact that the patients were prisoners from the maximum security prison in New Folsom who had been brought here against their will.
While Stetmann found these actions morally reprehensible, Yorin and the facility’s other researchers feared that his criticism would jeopardize their careers by causing trouble. Stunned by this hostility, Stetmann came to believe that the establishment had blunted the moral steadfastness and idealism of his colleagues. They viewed their own work as harmless and ignored the nefarious intent of the experiments as a whole.
Unable to reconcile this status quo with his conscience, Stetmann devised a sophisticated computer virus to sabotage the facility on Tyrador. Additionally, in a fit of recklessness, during the greatest post-attack confusion, he stole the prototype force field and replaced it with a non-functioning counterpart. When he activated the virus, the facility descended into chaos: all data was erased from the central computer, the cells holding the test subjects opened, and the security turrets fired at guards on sight.
Stetmann managed to escape amid the confusion, but was intercepted by Yorin. His former research colleague controlled a pressure door leading out of the facility, and she refused to let Stetmann through. While angry at the loyalty Yorin showed to the Terran League, he could not bring himself to hurt her. Instead, he overloaded the prototype force field, resulting in an explosive discharge of electromagnetic energy that not only distracted Yorin but also blew out all electronics in the vicinity and unlocked the pushdoor that separated him from freedom.
After smuggling himself off the planet on a merchant ship, he spent the coming months in Deadman’s Port, a hotbed of criminal activity where he was able to evade the Terran League’s grasp. He supported himself by selling tech upgrades until a group of ruthless criminals discovered his talents. Ultimately, he was called upon to plant tracking devices in the brains of debtors or other individuals considered their property by crime bosses.
When Stetmann refused, he became a hunted man. Forced to live on the outskirts of town near the spaceport, he lost everything but his will to live. Despite his efforts to hide, he was discovered by one of the criminal organizations he had alienated. In front of everyone at the spaceport, armed gangsters prepared to execute the young researcher, sending a bloody warning to all the rebellious residents of the city.
Among the audience were two men, Matt Horner and Jim Raynor, who would not take the killing of innocent people lightly.

Campaigns in general
In Starcraft 2, as in the first part, there is a single player mode. In this mode you play the campaigns of each race. On this page you will find the individual missions of the campaigns which we summarize as a walkthrough.
All three campaigns will be released as single games. These will be released in intervals of about 1-2 years and have the following titles.
Wings of Liberty – Terran Campaign
Heart of the Swarm – Zerg Campaign
Legacy of the Void – Protoss Campaign
All three campaigns have a story mode and a game mode. In the story mode, as you know it from role-playing games, you play from the point of view of a character, e.g. Jim Raynor, with whom you get information about planets, units or the story. Here you’ll also make important decisions that will determine the course of the game’s story. It can happen that you only see some cutscenes if you have completed a certain mission sequence. You can also postpone some missions and complete them later. There are also decisions in the story mode that have an effect on the missions. For example, you decide which units will be used for a particular mission. The missions are designed so that you can complete them using different tactics.
Story (Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty) The story of StarCraft II Wings of Liberty continues the saga and takes place four years after the events of StarCraft: Brood War. The storyline features familiar characters such as Jim Raynor or Kerrigan, but new heroes such as Tychus J. Findlay or Matt Horner also play a role.
However, the campaigns of the three races are completely different. In Wings of Liberty you have to earn money through missions to reinforce your troops. As far as the story is concerned, you are Jim Raynor with the Raynor Raiders fighting against the League. The Zerg, on the other hand, have no money problems and there is no need to buy expensive technologies. The Zerg campaign itself is more role-playing oriented and you act from Kerrigan’s point of view. The Protoss campaign is mainly about diplomacy.
