Ariel Hanson
Ariel Hanson has been revered as a genius all her life. At the age of six she was poring over her father’s old chemistry digi tomes. At eleven she published her first paper on the effects of chemical mutagens on the rare Trabillia flower. At sixteen, after graduating from high school two years ahead of her peers, she received a scholarship to Tarsonis University. Her father, the renowned terraformer Dr. Bernard Hanson.
The decision to leave home and start her scholarship was not an easy one for Ariel Hanson. She had spent most of her life on Agria, an idyllic colony world built by her father. Ariel Hanson’s mother, the famous geneticist Dr. Talise Cogan, had been replaced by Dr. Divorcing Hanson after he made the decision to found Agria, which was a barren fringe world back then. In her mother’s absence, Agrias became Ariel Hanson’s family surrogate colonists.
Agria had a large body of innovative research and terraforming equipment was developed there. This was due to the colony’s status as one of the Confederacy’s primary botanical reserves. dr Hanson uses these facts as arguments to keep his daughter from taking the scholarship on Tarsonis. In his opinion, Agria offered everything his daughter would ever need to pursue her scientific career. Originally, he founded the colony in part to give it a better life. Nonetheless, after a long inner struggle and a series of heated arguments with her father, Ariel Hanson decided to go to Tarsonis.
At Tarsonis’ University, Ariel Hanson earned her PhD after three years, attracting the attention of dozens of up-and-coming business hunters. Despite the numerous lucrative job offers, Ariel Hanson turned them all down. She had become disillusioned with the political activities and the ruthlessness of her peers. Everyone seemed intent on betraying each other for their success.
After all, it was the behavior of Ariel Hanson’s mother that made her leave Tarsonis. At the time, she was working at a major research facility on the planet. Although she hadn’t seen Hanson in years, Dr. Talise Cogan is still doing her work on her daughter. For Ariel Hanson, her mother became a chilling example of the kind of person she herself would one day become on Tarsonis: an insensitive intellectual who placed her career above all else. When Ariel Hanson decided to return to Agria, Dr. Cogan pretends she’s just escaping the “real” world, just like her father did. Those words only confirmed Ariel Hanson in her decision. If Tarsonis is the real world,
Ariel Hanson’s father never asked why she decided to return, nor did he resent her earlier decision to leave Agria, he just seemed happy to have her back with him. dr Hanson was the colony’s chairman and his daughter became his unofficial deputy. In the years that followed, Agria remained relatively safe and prosperous, even during the chaotic times that ravaged the Koprulu sector. When the Confederacy fell, Agria became the primary botanical center of the Terran League, which even stationed permanent defense forces on the planet.
But since then, a string of bloody incidents has left Ariel Hanson with doubts about the new government’s priorities. Most recently, in 2503, a heavily armed group of pirates attacked Agria in a bid to seize the colony’s high-tech scientific equipment. The League Marines attacked the pirates to protect the prized possessions, but the soldiers carelessly shot and killed colonists caught in the crossfire. Horrified by the carnage, Ariel Hanson risked her own life to save dozens of innocent civilians trapped in the battle zones.
The pirates were eventually driven off the planet, but events opened Ariel Hanson’s eyes to a sobering fact: the lives of the colonists on Agria were expendable to the League. Worried that history would repeat itself, Ariel Hanson dedicated her life to protecting the people of Agria who had joined the colony in search of a better future.

Campaigns in general
In Starcraft 2, as in the first part, there is a single player mode. In this mode you play the campaigns of each race. On this page you will find the individual missions of the campaigns which we summarize as a walkthrough.
All three campaigns will be released as single games. These will be released in intervals of about 1-2 years and have the following titles.
Wings of Liberty – Terran Campaign
Heart of the Swarm – Zerg Campaign
Legacy of the Void – Protoss Campaign
All three campaigns have a story mode and a game mode. In the story mode, as you know it from role-playing games, you play from the point of view of a character, e.g. Jim Raynor, with whom you get information about planets, units or the story. Here you’ll also make important decisions that will determine the course of the game’s story. It can happen that you only see some cutscenes if you have completed a certain mission sequence. You can also postpone some missions and complete them later. There are also decisions in the story mode that have an effect on the missions. For example, you decide which units will be used for a particular mission. The missions are designed so that you can complete them using different tactics.
Story (Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty) The story of StarCraft II Wings of Liberty continues the saga and takes place four years after the events of StarCraft: Brood War. The storyline features familiar characters such as Jim Raynor or Kerrigan, but new heroes such as Tychus J. Findlay or Matt Horner also play a role.
However, the campaigns of the three races are completely different. In Wings of Liberty you have to earn money through missions to reinforce your troops. As far as the story is concerned, you are Jim Raynor with the Raynor Raiders fighting against the League. The Zerg, on the other hand, have no money problems and there is no need to buy expensive technologies. The Zerg campaign itself is more role-playing oriented and you act from Kerrigan’s point of view. The Protoss campaign is mainly about diplomacy.
