Split Map Takes Flight in Epic Gaming Glitch!

When the community of Valorant was disturbed by one thing, then it was probably the extremely curious Map with the name Splitwhich has never really been able to provide real gameplay fun.

Logical. Breeze and Fracture also cause displeasure in the community. But even those responsible at have realized that Split needs to be reworked. The map is to be removed from the map rotation for now. But how does it come to this now? And how long will it stay like this?

Valorant says goodbye to Split

According to the statement, with the new map called Pearl recently too many in the card rotation. Therefore one has to go.

But the split story goes back a long way. Since the launch of the game it hailed again and again Criticism of the card on the part of the players. Mainly due to the fact that it was too defense-heavy. Over time, it underwent some adjustments, but it wasn’t enough to make a popular comeback. The map is still hated by the community.

Currently there are seven maps in the rotation. And that’s where it will stay next – Season . Act 1, Episode 5 takes off with Pearl and Split is deactivated for the time being.

Joe “Pearl Hogbash” Lansford from Riot Games thinks seven cards would be ideal, after all, they have to be learned and mastered first:

“Simply put, too many cards to learn can feel overwhelming and won’t give some of you the opportunity to really dig deep into any of them.”

Thus was with e-sports organizations decided that it was probably best to maintain a map pool of seven maps.

But why split? Split is not the most popular map, but Breeze and Fracture are also very unpopular with many. So why did they choose Split? The official statement says that they took several factors into account:

“Player sentiment, time since release, past and future updates, what the map holds in terms of strategic variance, and where Pearl fits in.”

So if we include Breeze and Fracture, they fall into the category of “best of breed” based solely on the shorter release time out. That left Split as the unpopular map with the longest release time.

Exciting it becomes then with the ninth card And whether another of the older maps will then be removed. Or whether it will finally be eight in the map rotation become? We will see.

After all, Split isn’t supposed to disappear from the scene entirely. Riot Games thinks that in future it could return – with “some adjustments”. When that might be planned again remains unanswered.

Patch 5.0 (with Episode 5, Act 1) will be released on June 22, 2022.
