Co-op trailer for CoD Modern Warfare introduces SpecOps mode

Instead of zombies returns in 2019 in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare the SpecOps mode back. However, the co-op missions are much more extensive than in the previous MW parts. We summarize all the information from the reveal of the new SpecOps mode.

Continuation of the campaign

The SpecOps game modes

Modern Warfare’s co-op mode includes three gameplay variants of varying scope, with Survival mode being a PS4 exclusive for one year.

• Missions: Shorter and more linear challenges
• Survival: Horde mode in which you fend off waves of enemies

1st Operations

The operations shall the heart of SpecOps will be at the heart of SpecOps, giving players a lot of freedom in how they handle the mission. There are four operations at launch, and more will be added after release – and simultaneously for all platforms, as Activision emphasizes.

The co-op operations should allow for different tactics and approaches, from frontal assault to stealth missions.

Operations run on various sprawling maps in multiple phases and are designed for four players. Depending on the equipment and tactics, the missions can be completed in different ways.

“Do you want to proceed quietly or shoot wildly? No matter what you decide, the enemy will react to your actions and try to thwart your plans,” reads the manufacturer’s description. 3rd Survival

While Operations and Missions are available on all platforms at the same time, the Survival variant is reserved for PS4 players until October 2020.

In this mode, up to four players in co-op fend off endless waves of onrushing enemies on one of three maps – a classic Horde Mode So. The exclusive deal with Sony around the Survival Mode had led to much displeasure and even cancellations of pre-orders.

Classes, killstreaks & loadouts

Progress made in multiplayer, such as unlocked operators or loadouts, can be used in SpecOps operations. In addition, there are some special features:

• Classes: In SpecOps, there are a total of six different classes – Assault, Recon, Engineer, Demolition, Medic and Heavy – which you select before going into action and unlock special upgrades or perks.
• Weapons: All loadouts customized and saved for multiplayer can be taken into co-op operations along with weapon attachments and equipment.
• Killstreaks: Before a co-op operation, players select three supply crates that contain an effect similar to the killstreaks in multiplayer. These crates are then randomly placed on the map – whoever captures them gains an advantage.
