Fuze from Rainbow Six: Siege may blow up more in the future.
Update – No. 2: Ubisoft has delayed the patch at the very last minute. Due to “unforeseen circumstances”, update Y5S2.3 has been delayed, Ubisoft announced on Twitter. There was initially no new date.
Update No. 1: The testing phase is finished and the patch Y5S2.3 with the three major operator changes goes live. As always, you can find the complete patch notes on the official website.
- Patch release: The update starts on July 28 at 3 p.m.
- Downtime: The servers of R6 will go offline for about 20 minutes
What changes? Ubisoft feels that three operators in Rainbow Six: Siege have been too weak so far, and is rolling out a series of improvements because of it.
Which operators are affected?
The changes affect two attackers and one defender. On the former side, Fuze and Gridlock become stronger. On the latter, however, Oryx becomes much more useful.
Oryx becomes harder
One of the first new operators of 2020 is Oryx. Its special feature: it can run through walls. And in the future, much better than before. Especially the recovery time from their use will be shorter in the future.
This is especially important since Oryx died very often should he break through a wall near an enemy. However, with these changes, he can now use his ability for surprise attacks.
- Breaking through a wall no longer consumes all charges of the ability.
- Cooldown is increased from eight seconds to twelve.
- Oryx recovers faster. You now only have to wait 0.5 seconds after using it. Previously, he had to wait one second after breaking through a wall and 0.7 seconds if he hit an enemy.
Gridlock works faster
Gridlock is an attacker who can slow down defenders with a grenade that places crow’s feet. She will be able to place these much faster in the future. In exchange, the operator will have to live with a short delay in the future before the unfolding sequence begins.
Gridlock players should thus be happy about a much smoother gameplay. Now, when you throw the mats into a room with an enemy, you can launch your attack a full four seconds faster. In Rainbow Six Siege’s short rounds, that makes a lot of difference.
- Gridlock’s Trax Stinger is now on the ground after 9 seconds, instead of the previous 13 seconds.
- Each of the mats is ready for use after 0.45 seconds. Previously, these required 0.7 seconds.
- The random variation during deployment is now only 0.05 seconds long instead of 0.1 second.
- Before the crow’s feet start to spread, 0.45 seconds will pass for this in the future. Previously, this happened immediately.
Fuze gets more explosives
Fuze gets the simplest change Of all the operators. He simply gets an additional one of his explosive charges, which you can use to fire grenades through walls. However, these devices are quite useful and cause chaos among the enemies – but they tend to kill the hostage if used improperly, which is why Fuze has a certain reputation among the community.
Even if these cluster grenades don’t take out defenders, they usually make short work of any enemy gagdets. The fact that they have so many deployable objects and the attackers can hardly eliminate all of them has been a certain point of criticism in the community for quite some time.
- Number of cluster charges increased from three to four.
What else happens in Rainbow Six?
The tactical shooter itself is currently moving towards a new event that has already been leaked by dataminers. This will turn you into robots that will be transform into drones and travel through cameras can.
Meanwhile, many players also noticed that Kapkan – one of the first operators of the game – is much more useful than anticipated. As a result enjoys the trapper currently again very popular.
