PvP world quests in WoW: Dragonflight will not be like in Shadowlands or any expansion before. They will be much more chaotic. Torghast-like bonuses that you pick up during the quests will make sure of that.
In WoW: Dragonflight, you can once again look for world quests on the world map and complete PvP world quests represented by crossed swords. However, with the upcoming expansion, the developers are taking a slightly different approach to PvP events in the open world. It’s going to be pretty weird.
The tasks remain mostly the same: Defeat either X players or Y mobs in the area. To make the whole thing much more exciting and above all crazier, various bonuses are available to you, as you might have seen in Torghast in WoW (buy now ): Shadowlands knows.
Other than the Torghast bonuses, most of the PvP bonuses in Dragonflight are all very strange. In the Azure Mountains area, our Wild Arcana PvP world quest begins by handing us a selfie camera. With each snapshot, we inflict significant damage on enemies. Upon defeating a mob, we then get to choose from one of three bonuses, most of which are all pretty dorky.

For example, one bonus is called Exploding Map. If we look at the map, that is, press M while there are four enemies around us, we do a lot of arcane damage nearby. If there aren’t four enemies nearby, we blow ourselves up. Our card even starts talking to us all at once. Other bonuses include dragging a large puddle of fire behind us or periodically swapping the state of our health with that of another player. If no player is around, our HP drops to 20%, then back up to 80%, and on and on.
WoW: Dragonflight: PvP world quests with Torghast-like bonuses go crazy (1)
The effect becomes stupid when the corpse of a player lies next to us. Then we swap our HP with the corpse’s 0 HP and die ourselves. Other effects teleport you around randomly, make you shrink, grow, jump higher, make a hologram of you appear, make you drop cupcakes when you take damage or grant you “a better time”. Whatever that means …
Many of the effects also increase our stats or give “real” advantages in combat. For the most part, though, the developers want to make PvP world quests in Dragonflight a crazy pastime that makes for unpredictable battles. By the way, the PvP world quests can be played without an active war mode. The bonuses of the quests are still active for some time after the quest is completed and can be reactivated later. In the Azure Mountains quest, for example, we activate an Arcane Born and can then use the bonuses to fight enemies near the Born. What do you think of the idea of these rather cheerful PvP world quests? We’re looking forward to your opinion in the comments.
