The – Season of Mastery in World of Warcraft is getting major changes. There will be more XP, more potions and significantly more loot from raids.
With the – Season of Mastery, World of Warcraft: Classic has already fulfilled many a fan’s wishes. Bosses have become harder, leveling is faster, and there’s even an “Iron Man” buff where players only have one life before they lose the buff and fail the challenge.
Now Blizzard has decided on even more big changes to better adapt to the changing desires and game systems of the championship – Season .
What should change?
Basically, the PTR brings three big changes that will turn the game around:
- Bosses in Onyxia’s Hoard, Molten Core, and the Pitchwing Hoard will drop an additional item.
- Maximum level alchemists have a chance to “procc” when crafting potions, elixirs, and vials, creating multiple alchemical products.
- The bonus experience of the “Adventure Awaits” buff has been increased from 40% to 100%.
Why is Blizzard doing this?
There are different reasons for the changes. Basically, however, the developers are responding to the changing wishes of the playerbase. After all, most players of the “- Season of Championship” have a different demand on the game than those who like to travel in the traditional WoW: Classic.
The changes are aimed at reducing the amount of time players have to spend on content they get little or no enjoyment from.
Additional loot makes for faster equipping of the entire raid. Since the Championship – Season goes through the different stages faster than the actual WoW: Classic, there is also less time to fully farm the “Tier 1” or “Tier 2” set, for example. More items therefore increase the chance of having the current content really “finished” before the next phase starts.
Alchemists will soon create more potions – but they are needed.
The fact that alchemists will be able to create multiple vials and potions at the same time while saving materials through “proccs” is also likely to be an effect of the increased difficulty. On the one hand, harder battles require players to consume more buffs in the form of potions and vials, and on the other hand, farming vials even for personal use already consumes a lot of time that players would rather spend on other activities.
The additional experience points will speed up leveling drastically and ensure that many players with second characters will reach the endgame faster and won’t have to spend many weeks leveling.
What’s still to come?
Apart from these major changes, the PTR mainly deals with adjustments to the upcoming raid “Black Wing Lair”. Here, too, the bosses have been strengthened a bit, the health points of the individual enemies have been adjusted, and a lot of bugs that had crept in have been fixed.
Keep in mind, however, that this is information from the PTR. It’s quite possible that a lot of things will change before the next patch is released.
What do you think of the changes? Good, sensible adjustments for the championship – Season ? Or is this all moving way too far away from classic WoW?
