Realm Royale Reforged is the finished version of the 2018 game Realm Royale. After four years of beta and a longer update break, Hi-Rez Studios revives its almost forgotten Battle Royale. The title is available for free and cross-play on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows and Xbox One.
Realm Royale Reforged: new and old gameplay elements and the dragon
The original Realm Royale was based on the game Paladins and was supposed to be an alternative to genre colleagues like Fortnite. A motley magic world and four classes were the basis. The blue chicken, which players transformed into up to three times after deadly shots and blows, was Realm Royale’s unique selling point and mascot. For a long time it was quiet about the game, which was still in beta. But on 22.08. the now finished game received the title Realm Royale Reforged.
New and old respectively are the three gameplay pillars of the current version: armor, classes and talent system. Instead of runes, armor pieces can now be found and created at the request of the community as before. These give individual advantages like increased speed. As before, there are four classes: Slayer, Mage, Warrior and Assassin. What’s new is that there are individual abilities and weapons for each class. Mages, for example, get ice wands or the fireball ability to finish off enemies with. The talent system, where up to four talents can be equipped, will also be adapted.
In addition, all players of the beta version will receive the OG bundle. This contains a skin for each class, new avatars, a phoenix skin for the chicken, new loading screen backgrounds and sprays. If that and the few new features aren’t enough for you, you might be curious to see what else Hi-Rez has planned. Since the update, a dragon flies over the island, which has no meaning for the game (yet). We’ll soon find out what he’s up to and how the Battle Royale will continue.
