In Valorant With patch 1.02 the Ranked-Mode was supposed to come back. However, a serious bug is currently causing you to spawn in the enemy zone from time to time. This in turn was the premature end of the ranked system in Valorant. But in the meantime the ranked mode is back.

What does the bug do? With the new update 1.02 the Ranked mode came freshly back into the game. In the night of June 24, 2020, Valorant announced that they had found a bad bug that put the competitive mode (Ranked) at risk and therefore took it offline for the time being. A little later, Game Director Joe Ziegler got in touch again via Twitter and announced:

Update: bad news. We are investigating a reported issue where players can occasionally spawn in the opposing team’s spawn point. We are actively working to fix this issue and get it fixed as soon as possible, but we will not re-enable competitive mode until it is fixed.

Bug probably paralyzes Ranked system for days

Bug leads to funny scenes: On reddit players confirmed that the bug exists: “This just happened to me. Was really funny, I spawned between 5 people and immediately got shot up by the crowd.”

Since such a bug completely ruins fair competition, the ranked mode is gone again for now. However, you can still play regular matches in Valorant that don’t have a ranking.

How long will it take until the bug is fixed? The developers at Riot Games had already announced at the time that they were addressing the problem immediately. Yesterday, the developers assumed that it would certainly take another day or two until the Ranked Mode could be reactivated.

Ranked Mode is back: But apparently the problem was solved faster than expected. Because already at 5 o’clock in the morning on June 25, 2020, the Ranked Mode could be reactivated in Europe. Everything should now work as intended again.

If former pro and top streamer shroud has his way, however, the temporary loss of ranked mode isn’t a big deal anyway. Because in another post, the top gamer ranted about it, noting that the ranked mode in Valorant was no good and would get in the way of a career as a game pro.
