Rainbow6 Operator-MAESTRO

SPECIAL ABILITIES AND PLAY STYLE

Maestro uses a remote-controlled turret that fires high-powered laser beams. Once positioned on the floor or against a wall, Maestro can remotely monitor a location using the pivoting camera. When the camera opens to emit a laser beam, its core is exposed and can be damaged. Otherwise, the turret is resistant to bullets and melee attacks. Last but not least, the Evil Eye can also see through smoke.

DATE OF BIRTH
April 13 (Age: 45)

PLACE OF BIRTH
Rome, Italy

BACKGROUND

“Have I told you how we jumped from a tree into a swamp in the middle of the night in Congo? No? Oh, that was really awesome…”

Adriano “Maestro” Martello, the eldest child of a family of eight, grew up in Rome but attended the Modena Military Academy by the age of 18. He joined the Carabinieri and earned a place as “Esploratore” in the 1st Parachute Regiment – called “Tuscania”. After completing various missions with distinction, earning Silver and Bronze Medals for Valor, Martello qualified for the Gruppo di Intervento Speciale (Special Intervention Force or GIS) and participated in joint operations in Iraq. A scar on his face is from the explosion of a roadside booby trap. He took part in numerous operations against national threats in Italy and became an instructor of “rank 3” units of the Italian army.

After completing Martello’s military service, he set up his own business as a private consultant and his courses in advanced techniques soon became popular with Tier 3 and 2 units as well as private military companies. Eventually, the Tuscania Regiment convinced Martello to return to the military and upgrade one of their units to a Special Ops with a “Tier 2” classification. This allowed him to join Team Rainbow as a representative of the Italian units.

PSYCHOLOGICAL REPORT

I have no doubts about the fact that Specialist Adriano Martello (aka Maestro) is a born leader. He earned the nickname “Maestro” because of his willingness to give up his own best performances in basic training in favor of helping other soldiers. While the records suggest that some soldiers disliked holding hands, I think it rounds out Specialist Martello’s teaching method. I have reviewed his school records for possible conflicts and I believe that he kept his brothers and sisters out of quarrels by fighting for them.

He originally joined the military to ease the financial burden on his parents of supporting eight children, and he transmits that sense of responsibility to his units. He cares for the men and women he serves with, and tends to motivate others to do their best – even if it can involve a bit of well-intentioned bluster and even vulgarity than some of our more reserved Operators might be accustomed to. I suspect Specialist Martello likes to swear for the gallery, even though he clearly uses his anecdotes to teach the class. However, he comes across as extremely sincere to others, which is an undeniable part of his charm because it is perceived as completely authentic.

One day Specialist Martello will make a top-notch tactical commander, but his biggest drawback is his restlessness.  He looks for challenges that turn out to be unfavorable to him. Once he’s achieved a goal, there’s little that keeps him there. He has personal ties with Specialist Seamus “Sledge” Cowden (joint operations in Iraq before Article 5 was implemented) to the point, to my knowledge, that he invited Specialist Cowden to visit his family when both were off duty. However, I doubt this will be enough to sign him for Rainbow operations. However, his connection to Specialist Aria “Alibi” de Luca could be of a different nature. Both worked closely together during Operation Spider Wasp. Specialist Martello’s unit targeted organized crime targets using information from Specialist de Luca. What other common story connects the two is – for the time being – still unknown to me.

In my opinion Specialist Martello needs a special motivation to stay involved – and that means giving him challenges he may not be up to yet. That’s why I recommend putting Specialist Martello in the ring with Specialist James “Smoke” Porter, for example, to pit him against a technically and physically superior boxer. According to my records, Specialist Martello grew up in a low-income neighborhood on Rome’s Lungotevere, where he made friends with local Roma children. He boasts of boxing with the Roma (a strong tradition in this culture) and I believe training with Porter will stimulate positive memories, that could create a connection between his childhood and Rainbow.

Another option would be if Specialist Mike “Thatcher” Baker took a personal interest in Martello’s development. Martello clearly has a natural respect for Specialist Baker – he won’t utter a word in the presence of the SAS veteran. That honor could forge a bond strong enough to keep Specialist Martello committed to the Rainbow program for the long term.

WOLFGUARD

“To serve is why so many of us are committed to what we do.” – Doc

Wolfguard is designated as the world’s leading humanitarian military unit and is known for its compassionate and prudent approach. It excels in high-visibility operations that take place in close proximity to civilians and where collateral damage must be avoided at all costs. Most of its members are trained in field medicine and specialized in some type of protection.

Special operations officer Gustave “Doc” Kateb leads this squad. He is on good terms with his subordinates and has an impeccable image with governments and the press. Although he and the rest of the Wolfguard were brought together to use their skills in delicate missions for the good of all, their popularity cannot be overlooked. It will always play a role in their missions.
