Rainbow6 Operator-LESSON

SPECIAL ABILITIES AND PLAY STYLE

GU mines were inspired by the sharp Punji batons used in the Vietnam War. The staffs, impregnated with poisonous plants or faeces, were used to stop enemy troops and cause serious infections in their camp. Accordingly, GU mines inject a toxin that wounds your opponents and reduces their speed.

BIOGRAPHY

REAL NAME
Liu Tze Long

DATE OF BIRTH
July 2 (Age: 44)

PLACE OF BIRTH
Hong Kong, Junk Bay (Tseung Kwan O)

BACKGROUND

“Don’t apologize for who you are. Only the weak of mind will ask you to make yourself smaller.”

Liu was born and raised in Tseung Kwan O (Junk Bay). At a young age he slaughtered scrapped tankers at his father’s side in the shipyards to get raw materials and parts. Since hazardous substances were omnipresent in his childhood and he was able to observe their long-term effects on his work colleagues, Liu still has respect for toxins and their effects on the human body to this day. For extra income, he volunteered to clear mines in Yunnan and Guangxi provinces. There, important officials from the Hong Kong Police Headquarters caught the eye of his skills and bravery. Liu entered the service of the explosive ordnance disposal agency. There he had the opportunity to further his education in chemical and forensic science, while he enjoyed intensive on site. Given his proficiency in dealing with chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threats, when Rainbow’s CBRN unit was formed, it was clear that Liu would become a part of it. In his free time, Liu continues to clear mines on a volunteer basis.

PSYCHOLOGICAL REPORT

Specialist Liu “Lesion” Tze Long’s teammates respect him greatly, although he often goes unnoticed due to his inconspicuous nature. Liu doesn’t mind being overlooked. When I asked him about it, he even smiled. On duty, Liu is serious and focused. He reacts very quickly. In his free time he is quiet and shines with a wonderfully dry sense of humour.

He takes an almost philosophical view of his poor childhood. Even today, he prefers to live a simple life, investing his money and time in useful things. Liu told me he is not one to rant about things outside of his control, and from observation I know he is not one to count his scars.

Frankly, he seems to have had a terrible childhood. Toxic substances endangered his health, not to mention the physical dangers of cutting through tons of steel. Nevertheless, Liu remembers it well and considers himself lucky to have survived the bad situations. I wondered if his optimism might be a survival mechanism to deal with dire circumstances, but Liu was very keen to reassure me. He said it wasn’t all bad. He described to me how he and his father admired the sunrise reflected in the water and took long lunch breaks to fish.
Liu continues to live in the area where he grew up. It’s not just nostalgia that connects him to the place. Knowing what he was like and how time has changed him also gives Liu a sense of satisfaction. He says that both he and Junk Bay have changed for the better and there is always an opportunity to make the future positive.

As at the beginning of his career, Liu continues to volunteer in underprivileged areas. With his expertise, he has helped clear tens of thousands of mines and unexploded ordnance. In particular, he has reached out to Rainbow’s tech experts for advice as he and Operators Olivier “Lion” Flament and Lera “Finka” Melnikova are looking to deploy state-of-the-art solutions in their CBRN Threat Unit.

Wolfguard is designated as the world’s leading humanitarian military unit and is known for its compassionate and prudent approach. It excels in high-visibility operations that take place in close proximity to civilians and where collateral damage must be avoided at all costs. Most of its members are trained in field medicine and specialized in some type of protection.

Special operations officer Gustave “Doc” Kateb leads this squad. He is on good terms with his subordinates and has an impeccable image with governments and the press. Although he and the rest of the Wolfguard were brought together to use their skills in delicate missions for the good of all, their popularity cannot be overlooked. It will always play a role in their missions.
