Rainbow6 Operator-IANA

SPECIAL ABILITIES AND PLAYSTYLE

The Gemini Replicator is a remote controlled holographic clone of Iana. He can move and make sounds like them, but he can’t shoot, fight, or use secondary gadgets. It has a time limit or can be ended at any time. There is always a cooldown between two uses, which lasts longer if it is destroyed.

The Replicator is entirely aimed at deceiving Iana’s opponents and gathering information. During its use, she can track down her opponents and cause confusion to her heart’s content. When the Gemini is spotted and destroyed, it can give Iana clues as to the threat’s location, but it also gives her opponents a few precious seconds to reposition themselves..

BIOGRAPHY

REAL NAME
Nienke Meijer

DATE OF BIRTH
Aug 27 (Age: 35)

PLACE OF BIRTH
Katwijk, Netherlands

BACKGROUND

“All systems are complementary if you know how to connect them.”

Meijer’s mother was a senior engineer on the construction of the Huygens spacecraft that landed on the moon Titan. Encouraged to reach for the stars from an early age, she studied space technology and wanted to be a fighter pilot. Unfortunately, her retina was affected by her albinism and her application was rejected. She then focused on systems engineering, developing contact lenses that hypercorrected her genetic deficit and included a state-of-the-art AR overlay.

Thanks to a collaboration during her PhD, Meijer got a glimpse of the field she really wanted to work in. Returning from the International Space Station, she wanted more than ever to explore the far corners of the cosmos—no matter what the cost. She pioneered topographic mapping software that allowed her to project a virtual clone of herself in real time using satellites or drones. This technology caught the attention of Elena “Mira” Álvarez and later Six.

PSYCHOLOGICAL REPORT

When I first met Specialist Nienke “Iana” Meijer, she explained that the silver spoon I used to stir my tea had more in common with the nails in my chair than the cutlery of kings. She recommended a gold spoon to lessen the metallic aftertaste. However, when she saw me putting sugar in the tea, she corrected her recommendation to zinc or copper. Wonderful. Her reductionist and blunt approach is sure to pose a challenge to her fellow Operators!
Her eyes light up when she talks about the precious few days on the International Space Station or the landing on Titan that she followed with her mother. These events have clearly made her want to get further out and see more with growing impatience. Had she been born 200 years earlier, she would surely have fearlessly mapped every corner of our little blue sphere. These days, however, she must be content with more distant and less familiar worlds.
Reading Meijer’s file makes it clear that she achieves success through sheer intelligence, determination and fearlessness. However, behind her collaborative and outgoing exterior lies a fragile core that she protects and keeps secret from others. Growing up as an albino wasn’t easy, no matter how tolerant society may appear on the outside. She has had to deal with social stigma and childish insults, but these difficult circumstances have fostered her empowerment and self-confidence. On her own she is like a raging river: fiercely determined to overcome any obstacle in her path. She doesn’t care about the price she has to pay for it.

She looked forward to sharing her experiences, knowledge and growing within a team that is distinctly different from her natural habitat. I am particularly impressed by your ability to analyze countless scenarios. She creates separate aspects of herself to address them all at the same time. People who multitask often don’t reach their full potential. But here, too, Meijer is the exception to the rule.

I am very confident that she will be an excellent addition to Rainbow. However, similar to Special Ops Eliza “Ash” Cohen and Elena “Mira” Álvarez, we need to make sure she is synergistic with her team rather than going lone wolf through misunderstandings.
