Ubisoft announces a new limited-time PvP event for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege: Containment. The event starts today, August 3, and will run for three weeks until August 24.

Inspired by the upcoming Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction game, Containment puts players on a revamped version of the Consulate, which is overrun by the Chimera parasite, in a new game mode called “Nest Destruction.”

Rainbow Six Siege will also be free from August 13-15, with twice as many bonus Battle Pass points to earn.

This event offers a taste of the world of Extraction in Rainbow Six Siege, in which a team of REACT agents (attackers) will intervene to destroy nests. They will confront a team of Proteus, a deadly archaean variant that will take the form of REACT operators (defenders) and will try to imitate their behavior at maximum speed, equipped only with melee attacks.

Defenders have extra health, Aruni’s fist punch, and Oryx’s special abilities, but are weaponless throughout the game. Attackers have standard equipment with no modifiers and only have access to a reduced selection of operators.

Containment will introduce a new game mode, Nest Destruction, where players fight over a nest. On one side, attackers get a two-stage objective scenario: they have to destroy the nest to reach the objective and win the round.

On the other hand, the defenders must rely on melee attacks and Oryx’s Remah Dash to stop their opponents and win the day. Of course, there is also an alternative solution to ensure victory – players can rely on the old, but efficient, method: completely eliminate the opposing team.

The Containment Event includes its own collection of 33 unique items for Rainbow Six Siege operators, including IQ, Ace, Blackbeard, Amaru and Zero on the attacking side, and Aruni, Jager, Kaid, Mira and Warden on the defending side.

The collection includes headgear, uniforms, and weapon skins. Each operator’s exclusive, limited-time customization items are available as bundles in the Shop section for 1680 R6 Credits or via the Containment Packs for 300 R6 Credits or 12500 Renown.
