Rainbow Six Siege developers have promised big changes for the upcoming – Season 3 of Year 5 and beyond. Some changes are now already known, including fixing a bug that has been bugging players since the game’s release.
What is this bug? It’s about a problem with detecting bombs when you’re on the move with the drone. Attackers have the option to scout with their drones at the beginning of a turn.
In doing so, they should actually be able to detect and mark bombs simply by seeing them with the drone. However, there has been a problem since the release of Rainbow Six about 5 years ago: The drone doesn’t recognize the bomb even if it’s right in front of it.
When will it be fixed? The developers announced in a blog post on August 13 that the bug will be fixed with the upcoming – Season 3 of Year 5. There is no release date for it yet.
However, since the current – Season 2 of Rainbow Six Siege was released on June 16 and – Season s usually last about three months, we expect a release of the patch and thus the fiex around mid-September.
Why did it take so long? The bug does not prevent players from winning or is otherwise “gamebreaking”. So it probably had a rather low priority so far and seems to be unexpectedly complex.
The developers write that the problem occurs when other operators switch to your drone and then to another. Apparently, it can happen that they “take” the ability to detect bombs with them.
However, the problem is especially troublesome for new players if they don’t know the maps that well yet. Thus, they have seen the bomb, but cannot estimate where it is, since it is not displayed on the HUD.
5 things you need to know if you want to start playing Rainbow Six Siege.
– Season 3 turns Rainbow Six upside down
What else will be changed? Ubisoft has excelled in the last few years in keeping up with and improving their service games permanently. Bug fixes like this one therefore show how well Rainbow Six actually ages.
Along with the annoying bug, some sound issues also disappear, difficulties with some gadgets are fixed, and cheaters continue to be fought. The list of changes for – Season 3 and 4 can be found on Ubisoft’s official site.
However, not only fixed bugs, but the patch should also bring new content. Among them is the new operator Sam “Zero” Fisher, the protagonist of the famous Splinter Cell games. He brings new possibilities to the game by shooting cameras into otherwise hard-to-reach corners.
Sam Fisher comes as a new operator in Rainbow Six Siege with Y5S3.
Zero isn’t even the most important change, though. A new gadget is coming that could completely change the meta of Rainbow Six: The Mini Breach Charge. It can partially destroy even reinforced walls, opening up many new tactical possibilities.
What happens after that? A comprehensive rework for Tachanka and another operator are also confirmed for Year 5. The operator is probably the Thai boxer Aruni, as a leak has revealed.
Which of the changes are specifically planned for – Season 3 and which for – Season 4 is not clear with everyone. However, the head of Rainbow Six has already talked about what will come even after that. The game is apparently going to change a lot, so we can confidently talk about a “Siege 2.0”. He says: You are not ready for what awaits you in Rainbow Six with Year.
