Start of the new – Season “Neon Dawn

The new defender Aruni

New operator Apha “Aruni” Tawanrooong is from Thailand and has powerful laser gadgets

Who is Aruni? After the operator Zero from the “Shadow Legacy” update, now comes the new operator Apha “Aruni” Tawanroong. She hails from Thailand and brings plenty of laser gadgets as a defender. Her strongest gadget is the “Surya Barrier”, which Aruni can attach to walls, doors, windows or hatches. The respective opening is protected by a laser net, which additionally cannot be destroyed.

Throwing projectiles, drones or projectiles are destroyed by the laser net and attackers receive 40 damage when they pass the net. The net is inactive for a short time after being triggered and recharges itself.

Aruni was previously revealed in a leak, in which her equipment and abilities were also shown.

What other equipment does Aruni have: Aruni carries the P10 Roni or the Mk 14 EBR as her primary weapons and the Baretta “PRB92” as her secondary weapon. Her gadgets are the proximity alarm and barbed wire.

The prosthetic arm of Aruni has it all: With her prosthetic arm, Aruni punches openings in destructible walls that are comparable to the entrapment hole of a shotgun. She also destroys barricades with her futuristic arm after one hit.

What attackers can do against Aruni: Relatively little. Their laser net is indestructible and only becomes inactive when triggered or hit by an EMP. Attackers often have only a short time window to overcome the laser net.

The defender Aruni has a strong arsenal of defensive weapons and gadgets

Complete revision of the skyscraper map

This was changed: The skyscraper map was previously equipped with numerous balconies. The number of balconies is reduced with Neon Dawn and the placement is shifted. The change is to prevent the previous crossfire. There are still three main targets on the map and the locations of the bombs have been adjusted.

Last but not least, the second floor rotation on both sides has also been adjusted. Overall, this should make the skyscraper map more competitive.

These changes are also included in Y5S4

Accessibility options implemented: With the new – Season , players get the option to enable Voice-To-Text and Text-To-Voice for chat. Further chat support is provided to players by automatically reading aloud hints from the Options menu. Audio-visual cues and text scaling can also be resized.

Game balancing changes: Operators who rush outside are detected after one second instead of 2 seconds as before. The detection alert has been replaced with an indicator in the UI.

Also new is the option for players to return to the match if they have lost connection.

Two operators get big nerf: Echo’s drones were invisible until the “Neon Dawn” update. This made Echo the most banned operator in Rainbow Six Siege history to date. Ubisoft has massively weakened its Yokai drones and they lose their invisibility completely.

Whether Echo will be banned less in Rainbow Six Siege Pros in the future remains to be seen.

The second big gadget nerf gets hunter: The most played operator is easy to play and his ADS device reliably intercepted shells. With the new update, the trap gets a 10-second cool-down once a projectile is intercepted.

The extensive changes of the new update can be read on Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege website.
