KRAFTON, Inc. today announced full details of the 2022 PUBG Nations Cup (PNC) through a press release. The global PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS Esports event will feature 16 national teams competing over four days in Bangkok, Thailand for their share of $500,000 in prize money.

PNC 2022 returns after a two-year hiatus and will take place June 16-19 in Bangkok, Thailand, at TRUE ICON Hall in ICONSIAM Mall, with matches starting at 1:00 p.m. CEST each day. The event is the first PUBG Esports event to return to a live audience since the PUBG Global Championship in November 2019. To celebrate, KRAFTON will be giving away free tickets on-site at TRUE ICON Hall. The venue can accommodate up to 1,200 spectators and tickets will be distributed while supplies last.

Event – and point structure

PNC 2022 brings together 64 players from 16 countries in four regions: Europe (United Kingdom, Finland, Germany, Turkey), Americas (United States, Canada, Brazil, Argentina), Asia-Pacific (Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Australia) and Asia (Korea, China, Japan, Chinese Taipei).

Europe will be represented by four strong teams, each consisting of top professional players such as Fexx (FaZe Clan) from the UK, mxey (Team Liquid) from Finland, Myca (Thunder) from Germany and Smash (BBL Esports) from Turkey. Thanks to the enthusiastic local support from home, the team will not lack motivation to bring home the PNC 2022 trophy.

The PNC will be played according to the “points rule,” combining elimination and placement points. There will be five games per day with a total of 20 games played on Erangel and Miramar. The team that accumulates the most total points after 20 matches will be crowned the winner of PNC 2022.

Composition of the prize pool

The prize pool for PNC 2022 is $500,000, with the prize money for the top three teams broken down as follows:

  • First place: 100,000 US dollars
  • Second place: 58,000 US dollars
  • Third place: 50,000 US dollars
