Update as of January 4, 2022 (4:30 pm): We’ve updated our big DualSense controller market and pricing overview – including pre-order options for the new Starlight Blue, Nova Pink, and Galactic Purple models (shipping January 14). The ‘Galactic Purple’ model will be sold exclusively at PlayStation Direct for the first four weeks – the ‘rest’ of the retailers won’t get on board until mid-February.

Update as of January 4, 2022 (12 noon): It’s almost a tradition: At the start of the year, MediaMarkt launches a so-called coupon booklet (valid until January 16 and while stocks last).

While browsing through it, we noticed several products that are also relevant for PlayStation 5 owners. For example: the PS5-compatible SSD storage expansion WD_Black SN850 (1 TB) including Heatsink for 199 €* – customers receive a 20 € gift coupon for this.

Those who want to treat themselves to a new UHD/4K TV to go with their console will find a whole range of offers* in the coupon book, including models from Sony, LG, Samsung, and Philips in all price ranges.

Update as of January 4, 2022 (10:30 a.m.): You’ll have to fork out between 20 and 25 € at Amazon*, for example, if you want to buy the very well-reviewed Codematers racing game Dirt 5 on your PS4 or PS5. PS Plus subscribers can download the game for free now, as well as two other games.

Message from January 4, 2022 (9:55 a.m.): As announced, we have redesigned our PS5 ticker a bit to further improve clarity and timeliness.

The rhythm will be kept: From Monday to Friday there will be a new issue every day. We’ll do our best to always release the article between 8 and 9 a.m. starting next week – so in time before potential drops.

The PS5 traffic light at the beginning of the ticker is new: There you can see at first glance whether the PlayStation 5 is available for order at one of the major retailers at this very moment. In case of an imminent or ongoing drop, we’ll put the link to the corresponding product page right at the top so that you can react immediately – without scrolling. You are also welcome to follow us on Twitter – there we point to larger PS5 drops.

The Favorites list is no longer part of the ticker, because the group of retailers eligible for a drop is limited to a very small number of providers anyway – first and foremost MediaMarkt and Saturn, plus Otto, Amazon, Euronics and Müller once a month.

One focus of the PS5 Ticker remains the monitoring of the delivery and pickup processes. When will pre-orderers be able to pick up the console in stores? Will there be any delays?

MediaMarkt/Saturn wants to make the pre-ordered devices available by January 10 – in many cases, this even worked out before Christmas. Every day, we receive emails from customers who have been notified ahead of time.

There is currently no news from Von Floerke: The online store wants to ship the outstanding PS5 consoles to credit card customers “at the latest” within 30 business days – this self-imposed deadline expires next week. Since the beginning of the year, no customers have come forward with confirmed PS5 delivery.

The Alternate* bundle offered yesterday afternoon is sold out.
