Update as of 19 January 2022 (17:45): In the past few hours, no more MediaMarkt/Saturn stores were radioed through to us that still had PS5 waitlist spots in serious supply.
Nevertheless: If you are in one of the stores anyway, it might be worthwhile to ask in the video games department – because ‘officially’ the promotion is still running until Monday. Maybe there was a cancellation that you can benefit from.
Thank you very much for the rich feedback. The next on-site pre-order campaign at MediaMarkt/Saturn is not expected until February again.
Update from January 19, 2022 (5:30 p.m.): There is apparently still merchandise available at Alternate: The XXL PS5 bundle is still listed*.
Update as of 19 January 2022 (16:30): There is news from VF Medical Products GmbH (formerly: Von Floerke), which we pass on here.
The management asks all customers with outstanding PS5 orders to initiate a complaint with their bank or credit card issuer due to non-delivery (‘chargeback’). This also and especially applies to those customers who do not have a corresponding e-mail.
According to its own information, the shipper wants to confirm this challenge immediately – this should also not result in any chargeback fees. The company points out the impending expiry of the deadline with regard to this procedure.
According to VF Medical Products, the affected customers will be kept on a waiting list: As soon as consoles arrive, the company plans to get in touch and deliver the PlayStation 5. Only after delivery would the invoice be due for payment.
Update as of January 19, 2022 (2:30 p.m.): After major drops like today at Amazon or yesterday at MediaMarkt/Saturn, many PS5 boxes immediately end up on Ebay* and other marketplaces – unfortunately, this is still part of the usual ritual.
In principle, there’s nothing to stop you from buying a PlayStation 5 this way for a surcharge – provided it’s in its original packaging and comes with the original retailer invoice. Hands off opened boxes and used consoles!
You shouldn’t have to pay more than 550 € (digital) or 650 € (disc) for a brand-new PS5 with full warranty.
Not illegal, but questionable are many Amazon Marketplace* offers that are hidden in the “All offers” section. There, the rates are at least 850 €, sometimes over 1,000 €. Such prices are of course completely excessive and unreasonable.
Update as of January 19, 2022 (2:15 p.m.): We have added more feedback to the PS5 pre-order acceptance stop list (see below): In the meantime, it might be difficult to still hop on the waiting list, especially in highly frequented MediaMarkt and Saturn stores in shopping centers and pedestrian zones. In rural areas, however, it may still be possible. Please feel free to send us an e-mail with your local situation.
Update, January 19, 2022 (1:50 p.m.): The €969 package from Alternate* is still listed and keeps unlocking.
Update from 19 January 2022 (13:48): In the past 72 hours, dozens of Von Floerke customers have written to us – in 99 percent of the reported cases, PS5 purchasers were asked to initiate a ‘chargeback procedure’ with the credit card company. The number of consoles shipped or in delivery is currently 8 (in words: eight).
Update as of January 19, 2022 (1:45 PM): Happy news from/for Medimax customers: More and more pickup confirmations are trickling in. Those who were successful with the PS5 drop a week ago should check the inbox.
Update as of January 19, 2022 (1:30 pm): Sony’s stock price has reacted sensitively to yesterday’s Activision Blizzard acquisition news by Microsoft – for good reasons. Because Team Xbox is not only getting strong brands like Call of Duty and Diablofurther enhancing the Xbox Game Pass: Microsoft will also have exclusive access to a whole range of world-class studios in the future.

Update, January 19, 2022 (10:15 a.m.): After a longer break, Alternate has a PS5 bundle in their assortment again today, consisting of console, EPOS H3PRO Hyrid headset, Dirt5 and Riders Republic. Price: 969 €. The package is basically in stock as long as it shows up in this overview*.
Update as of January 19, 2022 (10:10 a.m.): After the Horizon 2-As expected, Amazon has also unlocked the Digital Edition for €399.99* in addition to the Disc Edition bundle. All bundles are sold out by now – we don’t expect that they will be added again. This is also because the PS5 with the drive is not sold separately, but only in combination with the Horizon: Forbidden West was offered.
Unfortunately, Amazon had to struggle with technical problems due to the (expected) rush, as many readers reported to us. Nevertheless, according to preliminary findings, a clear four-digit number of consoles ‘went through’ – on the GamesWirtschaft scale, this results in three out of four drop points.

Update as of January 19, 2022 (9:55 a.m.): The Horizon 2-The bundle was sold out after only a few minutes. Those who followed the tip to put the bundle on the watch list in advance had better chances. Remarkable: The console is already shipped in advance, the game only follows on the release on February 18.
We assume that the ‘naked consoles’ will still go on sale.
Update, January 19, 2022 (9:50 AM): PS5 sales have begun on Amazon (as noted, Prime customers only). The Horizon 2-The Horizon 2 bundle is already unlocked, the other consoles should follow soon:
Message from 19 January 2022 (8:20 am): The view is directed at Amazon on today’s Wednesday morning: There, the so-called ‘Prime spoiler’ has been active since yesterday evening, which has always reliably announced upcoming sales promotions (“Prime members have priority access to the PlayStation 5”).
So Amazon says “We will sell consoles” – Without saying: “We will sell consoles”. Why this is (still) the case, we have written down here.
In any case, there’s a lot to suggest that we’ll see a PS5 promotion in the usual window between 8:30 and 10:30. If you’re interested in the console, you should log in now – and if you use multiple Amazon accounts, then by all means use the Prime account.
Because a Prime subscription is a mandatory requirement for the PS5 purchase on Amazon throughout Europe. The package can also be taken out at short notice: students and trainees pay zero euros* in the first 6 months – after that there is a 50 percent discount on the Prime fee.
