Update as of January 11, 2022 (1 p.m.): Due to many inquiries, a supplement on the topic of Von Floerke (recently: VF Medical Products): This week, there is only one shipping confirmation – from our point of view, no conclusions can be drawn about the delivery process (quantities, dates, sequence).

Update as of January 11, 2022 (12 noon): Up to and including August 2021, Expert* was one of those sellers that regularly offered PS5 consoles in its own online store – albeit often at ungodly hours shortly after 7 AM. Update, January 11, 2022 (9:15 a.m.): Apparently there is some movement in the Von Floerke case: A customer who ordered his PlayStation 5 in November and has been in contact with the editorial team since then has forwarded us a shipping confirmation – the console should be delivered tomorrow.

Surprisingly, shipping is now handled by a “VF Medical Products GmbH” based in Bad Tölz – the previous Von Floerke GmbH was renamed just a few days ago. According to the commercial register, the company is now dedicated to the “Trade in protective, care and hygiene products”..

In early December, Von Floerke wrote to credit card orderers offering two options: Credit the invoice amount or PS5 delivery within 30 business days. According to reader feedback, most customers opted for an extension of the delivery period. This period ends in mid-January.

If you browse kaufland.de or the Amazon Ps5 product page* under “All offers”, you’ll discover an ever-growing list of immediately available consoles at absurdly inflated prices. With their offers, the retailers, some of which operate abroad, are even more significantly above the current Ebay rates*.

Since day 1, our advice has been to only buy the PlayStation 5 new and in its original packaging. directly to buy from renowned retailers, electronics markets and mail-order companies – and not from sources you’ve never heard of. And of course, you should not pay more than the list price of €399 (Digital Edition) or €499 (with drive) for the ‘naked console’ there. Games, accessories and warranty extensions can of course increase the invoice amount.

If you don’t want to wait any longer for the next drop, you can of course always find one on Ebay* or Ebay Classifieds. Regionally, the prices are usually lower than with national offers. If possible, you should pick up the console in person and also only pay for it on site – and again, fingers off second-hand devices!

Currently, the question about the next PS5 bundle pops up more often in reader mails – that is, a combination of console plus game. Up to now, there has only been one official model, namely the Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart-package in June 2020. No official announcement has been made yet, but we firmly expect it to be released around the launch of Horizon: Forbidden West*. will be available in a bundle on February 18. The same applies to Gran Turismo 7which will be released a few days later on March 4 – provided nothing else comes up.

With a bit of luck, we’ll also see the first PS5 special model with console cover and controller in the game look shortly: There have been ‘limited editions’ like this on the PlayStation 4 in droves, such as on Spider-Man, The Last of Us 2 or Death Stranding. Whether that was already the case with Horizon: Forbidden West will be the case, we’ll have to wait and see. Also conceivable are separately available covers (faceplates) in the Horizon-design. Such covers in Midnight Black and Cosmic Red will be available for the first time on January 21 for around €55 – and initially exclusively at PlayStation Direct.
