Promised major innovations are postponed

In February 2022, Ubisoft first unveiled the roadmap for the seventh year of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. In it, it was promised that the popular and particularly tactical multiplayer shooter would evolve from – Season to – Season . They talked about new features and content that will still be released. Just later.

We’ve only known this for a short time, because a few days ago the roadmap for Year 7, which had already been updated as part of Operation Vector Glare, had been adjusted yet another time. Several major updates that were supposed to be implemented with Y7S3 are postponed to the fourth and last – Season of the year. Ubisoft remains true to the concept of four – Season s per year in 2022, but has to adjust its own schedule significantly – this might not be to the liking of some fans, who are eagerly waiting for some postponed features.

No new map, no rank 2.0 – but replacement

The second – Season has started and with Sens the newest operator has arrived in the ranks of the attackers. The shooting range is also here and other promised features have been introduced. All good? Rather not. Because while the roadmap has fit well so far, – Season 3 will look rather lousy.

Actually, another new map should have been released in Y7S3, but nothing will come of it now. As a replacement, Ubisoft now announces another change in terms of maps that will be active in – Season 3. According to this, the competitive map pool will be expanded by one map, but a name has not been given yet. There is only the hint that the community has already played this map once – in the context of an event, but never in competition.

Further delays

The third – Season of the seventh year Rainbow Six Siege was supposed to implement the “With Rank 2.0” mode, restrictions for voice chat as well as a beta version of the reputation rating display. However, all three of these innovations will not make it into the game on time, according to the updated roadmap.

All three features will be postponed to Y7S4, Ubisoft announces. It has been determined that development needs more time and wants to ensure that quality standards are maintained. The talk is about the best possible revision in terms of “With Rank 2.0” and meeting the development requirements of the live game both in the restrictions for voice chat and the beta version for reputation rating.

“Staying on the topic of upcoming player:in behavior features, we are pleased to announce that the ability to submit cheat reports from match replays and the restrictions on text chat will appear in J7S3 as planned,” Ubisoft adds in the announcement. After all.

Also announced for – Season 3 were major balancing changes. According to Ubisoft, this is mainly about the unbalanced balancing of LMGs and Finka’s role in the . This upcoming, extensive balancing with – Season 3 is the main reason why they refrained from releasing a balancing update mid– Season as well. Part of the update will be to allow some operators to add contact EMP grenades to their equipment.
