Problems in the Weekend League? We need these fixes

The Weekend has been completely redesigned for 22 and has become the FUT Champions Finals. The community thinks the new playoff system is anything but great. What’s wrong with the new mode?

Before the release of FIFA 22, it all sounded pretty fancy. New weekend league, fewer games, exciting playoffs . But it is precisely these new features that the community is desperate for. While it’s actually quite chilled to only have to play 20 matches instead of 30, the playoffs really pull you down. The new mode is being criticized more and more, many FIFA players are no longer trying to qualify for the FUT Champions Finals . But what’s the problem?

It can certainly not be due to the FUT Rewards . They’re crass like they haven’t been in a long time. All you have to do is make a successful qualification for the Weekend League. Which is sometimes impossible. That makes you cry. And maybe also makes the wallet twitch. The Weekend League Playoffs in FIFA 22 are just way too intense.

FUT Champions Playoffs in FIFA 22 – A little mercy for weak players

This Ultimate Team – Season can be summed up like this – all or nothing. When you’ve made it to the FUT Champions Finals, there really isn’t much left to tear. If you mess up all 20 games, you’re already in rank 5. And what you get for it is just abnormal. But if you miss the Weekend League… Then there’s shift at the shaft . Everyone else gets a good deal , but you’re left with your team of dirt. Nice.

The reason for this is clearly the qualification. You can still scrape together the necessary points to reach the playoffs somehow. This is often a major challenge, especially for people who have to work. But not because of the skill, just because of the lack of time. So no problem. In the playoffs, however, you are thrown together with random players from all possible divisions. And there you can wipe the floor with one. 5 wins from 9 games are usually not that easy, especially not against significantly better opponents.

What would be a solution? There are two interesting ideas circulating in the community. First, the suggestion that players who fought their way up to rank 2 and 1 in the last WL are automatically qualified for the next edition. This drives frustrated players back into Rivals and trying their hand at the playoffs. Alternatively, rank 2 players could just be given a head start in the playoffs so they don’t have to play as many games.

The second idea refers to a kind of second weekend league. Just think of the Europa League. The people who don’t make it through the playoffs just start there. Of course there would be worse rewards, but at least players have a reason to gamble on the weekend.

The only question left is… Why did EA decide to go with the playoffs in the first place? The gap between rich and poor in FIFA 22 is widening by missing the Weekend League. And what helps against poverty? right, money. World poverty problem solved in 3 seconds. So EA hopes that frustrated players will put a lot of money into FUT. If that doesn’t backfire.

FIFA 22 – FUTs

What could be cooler than just relaxed gaming and doing some sofa sports on the side? In FIFA 22, the player is on the move fast, but without getting sore muscles. With the Ultimate Team cards, the collecting instinct is now also satisfied. However, the FUT keep creeping into my mind, so here are the best Ultimate Team Event cards that are definitely worth adding to your collection.

Heroes cards selected by EA for top qualities

Admittedly, the FUT heroes will cost quite a bit of coin, but it turns out that EA has once again brought some top-class players into the game when it comes to selection. As a collector and hunter, it’s an added attraction for FIFA gamers to now include their own favorite heroes in the portfolio and benefit from their individual skills. Both in the game and in team building, the FUTs will revolutionize the game once again.

EA SPORTS FC: FIFA GAME SERIES TO BE CONTINUED UNDER NEW NAME

Of course, the soccer simulation game series will not be discontinued completely. After FIFA 23, EA will relaunch the game under the name EA Sports FC and market it independently. Old FIFA hares should now become quite an ear, after all, the EA Sports Football Club used to be a part of the actual game for years. A lot of playing was rewarded, points could be collected and items, boosts or balls for the individual game modes could be unlocked.

In this context, there could also be a complete revolution of the classic game. There is a heated discussion in the FIFA community about whether the game, which is expected to be released in the fall of 2023, will be free-to-play. This option is said to be on the table for the game makers from EA, because: It seems that EA earns most of its money with the purchases of FIFA Points in the game mode Ultimate Team and not with the sale of the game itself.
