The highest German-language division in League of Legends kicks off the hot phase of the – Season on August 2. Find out who has the best chance of winning the title in the first offline finals in front of a live audience and how the Berlin rivals are rated here.
The 2022 Summer Split Playoffs of the Strauss Prime League will go down in history. For the first time, the LoL pros of the best German-speaking league will play for the title in front of a live audience. As in the Spring Split, Berlin arch-rivals BIG and Eintracht Spandau will be in the mix – but the top favorite is someone else.

Unicorns of Love Sexy Edition is considered the biggest candidate for the title. Even before the last matchday of the Regular – Season , the Unicorns were already determined as the first-place team. This means that the team around the internationally experienced jungler Lukas “Lurox” Thoma, which has only 3 losses with 15 wins, will be in the important Upper Bracket Final.
What makes the Unicorns’ performance so special is the fact that after a bumpy start to the – Season , they managed 14 wins in a row. This is a new record in the Prime League and automatically confirms the lineup’s steep form curve. In the Upper Bracket final, the Unicorns will face second-placed SK Gaming Prime – one of the few teams to beat the Unicorns at the start of the – Season . Both opponents are automatically qualified for the EU Masters, as they are guaranteed a top-3 finish in the playoffs.
No Berlin derby in the final
So it is already certain before the playoff start: There will be no Berlin Derby in the final of the Summer Split 2022. Because BIG lost the tiebreaker in the fight for second place against SK Prime on Sunday night, the Berlin organization around veteran Simon “Ventair” Tschammer has to prove itself from the beginning in the lower bracket of the playoffs.
In the first round, BIG will face traditional organization MOUZ, who snatched the last playoff spot and left reigning champion GamerLegion behind. BIG enters the game as the favorite based on consistent – Season performances, kicking off the playoffs at 6 p.m. Tuesday. BIG, as the – Season ‘s third seed, got to decide for themselves whether Eintracht or the Mice would be their opponents in the first round.
A possible clash between BIG and Eintracht Spandau could only follow in the second round. The Eintracht of Maximilian “HandOfBlood” Knabe, who always makes himself heard as “President Knabe”, has to prove itself against Schalke 04 Esports for the opener. The clash begins two days later on Thursday at 6 p.m.
Offline final with audience in Berlin
The summer final of the Prime League will be played on August 20 with a live audience on site in the German capital. The Arena Berlin in the Köpenick district, which has already been the venue for the LoL event “The Main”, offers space for 2,000 spectators.
For the players as well as those responsible, the offline final will thus be historic. The first final of its kind, which will be decided in a best-of-five format, will start at 3 pm. Admission will be much earlier, starting at 10 a.m., as numerous pre-show highlights are lined up.
