In August 2021, the developers of Pokémon Go will treat you to a visit from Galar, as a new legend will appear in the game as part of the Hyperbonus: Shear and Shield event. We are talking about the Gen 8 wolf Zacian. This will spawn in his Heroic Warrior form in the Tier 5 raids. We have a counter guide to Zacian as Heroic Warrior in Pokémon Go for you.
Those who play Pokémon Go true to the motto “Catch them all” are already rubbing their hands, because from August 20, 2021 at 10:00 a.m., the Hyperbonus: Sword and Shield event will start in Niantic’s AR game. During this event, all kinds of 8th generation Pokémon will come into play – including the legendary Zacian in its Heroic Warrior form, i.e. without a sword. Zacian is one of the two pocket monsters that adorn the cover of the Sword & Shield edition. Zacian as Heroic Warrior is not expected to be as strong as Zacian, King of the Sword, though. Still, players won’t want to miss out on the chance to get the Legendary. With our Zacian counter guide, you have the best chance of winning the battle against the Tier 5 raid boss. Remember, Zacian will only be in the raids for one week as part of the hyper bonus!
Zacian, Heroic Warrior as a Raid Boss in Pokémon Go.
Zacian is a Fairy-type Pocket Monster in its weaker form, so there aren’t that many Legendaries of it so far. When it enters the Pokémon Go Raids as King of the Sword, it will also have the Steel type in addition to Fairy. But that’s still up in the air. So, as a pure Fairy type, Zacian is vulnerable to Poison and Steel attacks, from which it takes effective damage.
Since it is not yet known what attacks Zacian will have in Pokémon Go, all we know is that it will be boosted in cloudy weather due to its type. Then it would deal tremendously against Battle, Dragon, and Unlight Pokémon with Fairy attacks. So you are then on the safe side with Poison and Steel Mon. Basically, you need to beat down 52,195 WP, so you should start the battle with three or more players. The following Pokémon are theoretically the best in battle with Zacian:
- Mega gengar with licker and mud bomb
- Metagross with cartridge slash and star slash
- Dialga with metal claw and iron skull
- Gengar with licker and mud bomb
- Genesect with metal claw and magnetic bomb
- Jirachi with charge beam and kismet wish
- Stollos with iron tail and ram boss
- Stalobor with metal claw and iron skull
- Mega-Bibor with poison blow and mud bomb
- Roserade with poison blow and mud bomb
- Mega Pigeon Boss with steel wing and swoop
- Heatran with fire whirl and iron skull
Zacian, King of the Sword as a raid boss in Pokémon Go.
It can’t be fully ruled out that Zacian will eventually enter the raids of Niantic’s game in its powerful form. Then its types change to fairy and steel, and this ensures that it has a weakness to fire and ground attacks. Accordingly, the useful counters then also change. Important for the trainers among you: If Zacian carries a sword in his mouth, then take the following counters for the fight. If Zacian does not carry a sword, then use the above recommendations.
- Mega Glurak Y with Fire Whirl and Lohe Cannonade
- Skelabra with firewhirl and heatkoller
- Mega-Glurak X with firewhirl and lohecanonade
- Reshiram with fire fang and heat purgatory
- Heatran with Fire Whirl and Flame Throw
- Rihornior with Loheclaw and Earthquake
- Mega-Hundemon with Fire Tooth and Flame Throw
- Mega-Gengar with Licker and Spookball
- Lavados with Fire Whirl and Heat Fury
- Entei with Fire Tooth and Heat Flare
- Knakrack with clay shot and earth powers
- Stalobor with clay clamor and earthquake
Catch Zacian in Pokémon Go
If you have successfully completed the battle against Zacian and have the chance to banish the pocket monster into your Pokéball, then Zacian has 2,188 CP at level 20 with 100% IV values. If Zacian in Heroic Warrior form is boosted to level 25 in cloudy conditions, then it has 2,735 CP at perfect 100% IV values. A King of the Sword is boosted to level 25 in cloudy weather and snow and then has 3,556 CP at perfect 100% IV values (unboosted: 2,845 CP). We wish you good luck in the hunt!
Pokémon GO
Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.
Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights
Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.
Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.
Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More
The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from Pokemon.gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
