There’s a lot going on in Pokémon Go on February 1 and 2, 2020, and we’ll tell you what’s going on in our overview so you don’t miss anything. On Saturday, the voting for the Pokémon for February Community Day is on the agenda, and on Sunday there’s the Limited Research on Picochilla and Chillabell.

Players of Pokémon Go, pay attention! This weekend, February 1 and 2, there’s a lot going on in Niantic’s popular AR game, and we want to remind you about it briefly – so you don’t get upset afterwards that you missed the February 2020 Community Day vote or the Limited Research for Picochilla! That’s why we’re giving you a brief overview again below!

Community Day: Voting for the Pokémon for February 2020

Voting for the Community Day Pokémon on Community Day in February 2020 will begin on February 1, 2020 at 00:00 and will be active until February 1, 2020 at 23:59. By completing certain field research, you will cast your vote for one of the four pocket monsters up for election; these are Rihorn, Machollo, Vulpix, and Dratini.

To make the voting fair, all the candidates’ field research projects have the same objective. This is what you must meet in order to cast a vote for the February 2020 Community Day Pokémon. The goal of the field research projects is to catch 20 Pokémon. In return, you will receive 200 stardust. You can get these four field research projects on voting day:

  • Vote for Community Day with Machollo! Catch 20 Pokémon.
  • Vote for Community Day with Rihorn! Catch 20 Pokémon.
  • Vote for Community Day with Vulpix! Catch 20 Pokémon.
  • Vote for Community Day with Dratini! Catch 20 Pokémon.

For each research you complete, you give one vote to the corresponding Pokémon. You can read all the details in our Community Day voting news.

Limited Research for Picochilla and Chillabell

Picochilla can be obtained via Limited Research field researches, on Sunday, February 2, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Remember, you only need to complete the field researches, you don’t need to capture the Picochilla, which you can also encounter in its Shiny version as a reward for completing the field researches, right away. Picochilla can then be evolved into Chillabell along with a Einall Stone and Picochilla Candy. If you don’t have time for Limited Research, don’t despair, as Picochilla also has a chance to hatch from 5k eggs more often – even after completing the Limited Research event! For more information on Limited Research for Picochilla, check out our post on it.

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
