Special candies take up space in the Pokémon Go inventory due to their special status. Some trainers are certainly willing to throw the candies on top of the next best mon when space is at a premium. However, there are Pokémon that you should prefer to give special candies to for leveling. You can find out which ones here.
Who hasn’t experienced this? If you’ve been holding back on buying inventory space in Pokémon Go, sooner or later you’ll run up against the limits of your limited pocket again and again. And then you ask yourself the question again when you shoot for a field research at a PokéStop but can’t because your pockets are full: what to throw away? The superfluous billo Pokéballs? The berries you never use? Or the special candies after all? There are said to be crazy Pokémon Go players who have done the latter as well. But, it must be emphasized, this happened because the person simply didn’t appreciate the value of the candies.
So if you’re really thinking about throwing away special candies when you’re short on space, read on. Because converting a Special Candy into a Pokémon Candy makes more sense, of course. But … what kind of candy should such a Special Candy be converted into? This question was addressed by the authors of Pokémon Go Hub – and this is their result.
Of course, you want to convert the special candies into those that you can use for a legendary or mythical Pokémon. This, in turn, assumes that the corresponding pocket monster is also in your collection and that its IV values are not absolute grit. Why Legendary and Mythical? Obviously, because it is the most difficult to get their bonbons for leveling up. Legendaries can only be found in raids once every year or two, Mythics hardly ever, and you can usually only get one of them. And they only collect one candy every ten kilometers they run.
However, before converting your Legendary and Mythical Mon, make sure that they have a decent IV value.
- Mewtu with Psychic Strike is still an untouched king in both PvE and PvP, and he’ll have two Mega Evolutions at his disposal later on. Put your money on Mewtu, and you’re betting on victory!
- Lavados, aside from Mega Evolutions, is one of the best fire and flight attackers, especially in its Crypto form; the combination of Sky Sweep and Heat Fury can be devastating. You’ll use Lavados less in trainer battles, though.
- Raikou, in its Crypto form, is the strongest electric attacker in the game, but it’s still good without its Shadow form; Zekrom is a bit stronger. If you teach Raikou Spukball on top of that, then the Thunder Cat is worthwhile, especially in PvP.
- Rayquaza is the best dragon attacker that can’t be Crypto or have Mega Evolution. And just imagine what will be once Rayquaza can become a Mega Pokémon!
- Reshiram is the best Fire attacker if we disregard Crypto and Mega Pokémon. However, you are more likely to use Reshiram in PvE and less in PvP.
- For Zekrom, the same is true as for Reshiram: apart from Crypto and Mega Pokémon, it is the best of its type Electro. Especially in the Master League in PvP it rocks the house.
- Giratina (Original Form) is one of the best Spirit attackers apart from Crypto and Mega Pokémon, even if it still lacks its Scheme Power attack. Especially in the Master League, Giratina (Primal Form) is a blast.
- Dialga can’t take damage from any other dragon very effectively (thanks type steel) and is well used in the fight against other dragons because of that. Dialga also rocks the master league.
- Groudon is, again, aside from Crypto-Mon or Mega Pokémon, the most effective ground attacker. Plus, it’s sure to be treated to its Protomorphosis form in the future.
- Kyogre is the best water attacker apart from Crypto or Mega Mon and will probably be able to use its Protomorphosis form in the future as well. Together with Dialga and Togekiss, Kyogre is a very good choice for Master League.
- Darkrai is the best Unlight attacker aside from Crypto or Mega Mon, and pays huge dividends against Psycho raid bosses. However, you shouldn’t rely on Darkrai in PvP.
Pokémon GO
Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.
Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights
Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.
Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.
Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More
The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from Pokemon.gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
