PoGO – Pokémon Go: Take smoke tag for powerful metagross!

Are the Pokémon Go players among you already up to something on March 14, 2021? If not, then watch out! That Sunday, Niantic’s pocket monster-collecting app will be hosting its next Smoke Day event, and since it’s also centered around Tanhel, you’ll be able to stock up on all sorts of Star Slash metagross. You don’t want to miss out on this opportunity!

Next Sunday, March 14, 2021, there’s another event coming up in Pokémon Go, if you’re not already busy with the Legend Quest and the two researches for it by then anyway (by the way, the Temporary Research for the Legend Quest is active until March 14, 2021 at 20:00!). So on March 14, 2021, there’s also a Smoke Event to help you at least complete the Legend Quest research steps, because it’s a Smoke Day with Tanhel, Steel, and Psycho Pokémon. And since you’ll want to catch 45 Steel Pokémon anyway for completing the Temporary Legend Quest Research … you know where we’re going with this.

On top of that, attracting Tanhel en masse for Smoke Day will come in handy, because when you eventually evolve the Pokémon into Metagross, it’ll learn Star Slash – a powerful charge attack normally reserved for Community Day Metagross. So there are good reasons to get active as a Pokémon Go player on March 14, 2021, and fire out those smokes you’ve been stashing anyway, right? Here is all the information about Smoke Day in March 2021.

  • Event: Smoke Day with Tanhel, Steel, and Psycho Pokémon starts on March 14. March 2021 at 11:00 am and ends at 5:00 pm local time.
  • During the event, Tanhel will be attracted by smoke – if you’re lucky, you might even encounter an Iridescent specimen! If you evolve Metang (Tanhel’s evolution) during the event, your Metagross will learn the previously Community Day-exclusive attack Star Slash.
  • In the store, you can buy a box with a smoke for one PokéCoin.
  • In addition to Tanhel, other Pokémon will be attracted to smoke at different times during the event.
    • During Psycho Hours, you’ll encounter Pokémon like Natu, Girafarig, Meditie, and Puppance, and if you’re lucky, even Somniam!
    • During Steel Hours, you’ll encounter Pokémon like ALoLa-Digda, Magnetilo, Stollunior, and Bronzel, and maybe even Schilterus!
  • At these times during the event, the specific Pokémon will be attracted to smoke.

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
