PoGO – Pokémon GO: Special Box, Superbox, Hyperbox - which Solstice offer is worth it?
THOSE: BUFFED

With the start of the Solstice event in Pokémon Go, the developers at Niantic have brought special offers to the store in the form of the Special Box, Super Box and Hyperbox. What’s in it and is the price worth it?

In Pokémon Go, the Solstice Event is active until October 2, 2017 at 10 pm. Not only that you get more experience points for Pokémon that you have not yet entered in the Pokédex or double the amount of stardust, nu-uh. There are also three special offers in the Pokémon Go in-game store. For 480 Pokécoins you get the Special Box, for 980 Pokécoins you get the Super Box, and for 1,480 Pokécoins you get the Hyper Box. Are the offers worth it and which player will pick up which package?

The Pokémon Go Hub staff evaluates that quite impressively on their website, focusing primarily on which package offers the most Super Brooders for its price. Super Brooders hatch Poké eggs at one and a half times the normal speed, so they’re especially interesting for the frequent brooders among you. For now, here’s an overview of the contents of the packages:

Special boxSuperbox Hyperbox
3 super incubators5 super incubators8 super incubators
5 attract modules4 lucky eggs8 lucky eggs
10 lure modules15 lure modules
Price: 480 PokécoinsPrice: 980 PokécoinsPrice: 1,480 Pokécoins
Price without the discount: 500 PokécoinsPrice without the discount: 1,320 PokécoinsPrice without the discount: 2,140 Pokécoins

The authors of Pokémon Go Hub conclude that the Special Box is the cheapest way to get Super Spawning Machines, as you pay an average of 160 Pokécoins for the machine in the package (196 coins for the Super Box, 185 coins for the Hyperbox). Admittedly, though, there’s hardly any additional goodies with the special box. The Hyperbox, on the other hand, is the premium option, has a decent price for Super Brood Machines, and a good amount of extras.

And what about the Super Box? Most trainers in Pokémon Go will probably go for the option, but the Super Hatcheries are quite expensive and the extras are manageable. One more lucky egg or hatcher might not have hurt the package. If you’re not interested in the lucky eggs, but the hatching machines, then you’ll have the best deal with the special box. You can find the article from Pokémon Go Hub on the website of the Pokémon Go fan site.

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
