Update from February 23, 2022: Joy, fans of entertaining Pokémon collecting, because in Pokémon Go the Shadow Jungle Event has started. Don’t miss your chance to get Imantis, Mantidea, and Kapu-Fala, because who knows when you’ll get them again! If you don’t want to rely on your spawn luck in the wilderness or other sources, then use the Limited Research on the Shadow Jungle Event, because after completing Step 4, you will be rewarded with the encounter with Imantis! Shadow Jungle – Step 1/4
- Walk a 1 kilometer – Reward: 10 x Pokéball
- Catch 10 Pokémon – Reward: 5 x Himmih Berry
- Use 5 berries when catching Pokémon – Reward: 5 x Sanana Berry
Reward for completing Step 1: Encounter with Kinoso, 5 x Nana Berry, 500
Shadow Jungle – Step 2/4
- Walk a 1 kilometer – Reward: 10 x Pokéball
- Catch 5 plant-type Pokémon – Reward: Encounter with Endive
- Use 10 berries when catching Pokémon – Reward: Encounter with Knofensa
Reward for completing Step 2: Encounter with Duflor, 5 x Himmih Berry, 1,000 XP
Shadow Jungle – Step 3/4
- Walk a 1 kilometer – Reward: 10 x Pokéball
- Catch 10 Plant-type Pokémon – Reward: Encounter with Hutsassa
- Use 15 berries while catching Pokémon – Reward: Encounter with Knilz

Shadow Jungle – Step 4/4
- Walk a 1 kilometer – Reward: 10 x Pokéball
- Give your buddy 3 snacks – Reward: Encounter with Sonnkern
- Catch 7 different types of Plant Pokémon – Reward: Encounter with Igamaro

Original news from March 18, 2022: On March 22, 2022, the Shadow Jungle event will kick off in Pokémon Go at 10:00 a.m. local time, bringing Shiny Waumboll, Imantis, Mantidea, and Kapu-Fala into the game! Along with that, you can expect a new experiment: not a spotlight hour, but a whole spotlight weekend in parks, and with Waumboll – you should have a chance to grab Shiny Waumboll, right? And as if all that wasn’t enough, you’ll also be able to do some limited research as part of the event. Apart from that, the special research on ALoLa Island Akala will also start, which is certainly similar to the research on Mele Mele Island. Lots to do! Shadow Jungle Event 2022
On March 22, 2022, the Shadow Jungle Event will start in Pokémon Go at 10:00 AM local time and will then be active until March 29, 2022 at 8:00 PM. Here’s what to expect!
- From Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 10:00 am to Sunday, March 27, 2022 at 8:00 pm, there will be a spotlight weekend in Parks! Waumboll will appear more frequently in parks and can be caught by you as Shiny.
- Pokémon Imantis and Mantidea will appear in Pokémon Go with the Shadow Jungle event.
- Kapu-Fala will appear in Pokémon Go’s Tier 5 Raids starting March 22, 2022.
- During the event, you’ll be able to play a Temporary Research that requires you to catch Plant Pokémon. As a reward, you can expect an encounter with Imantis.
- Safcon, Paras, Owei, Hoothoot, Mogelbaum, Imantis, Kastadur, Pinsir, and Waumboll will appear in the wild.
- Through field research you will be rewarded with encounters with Raupy, Owei, Sonnkern, Waumpel, Samurzel, Waumboll, Kastadur, Imantis, Paras and Parasek.
Temporary Research for Shadow Jungle Event 2022
It is not yet known which tasks you will have to complete for the Temporary Research. However, we already know that you will need to catch Plant Pokémon and will be rewarded with items and an encounter with Imantis. We will add the guide as soon as we have the information about the steps and rewards.
Pokémon GO
Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.
Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights
Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps.
