Original news from January 8, 2018: Currently, trainers in Pokémon GO still have to make do with Groudon as a legendary raid boss – but in the near future, players will be able to take on the legendary Pokémon Registeel, a Tier 5 Steel-type boss with 33,516 CP. The raid against Registeel requires at least five to six players – just like the other raids against legendary Pokémon. In battle, Registeel relies on a combination of Steel, Battle, and Normal attacks. The following attacks can be used:

– Metal Claw (Steel type, instant attack)

– Shatterer (Combat type, instant attack)

– Light Cannon (Steel type, Charge attack)

– Focus blast (type combat, charge attack)

– Hyper Beam (Normal type, Charge Attack)

Because Registeel is a Pokémon of only one type, Steel, its counters in the Raid are relatively straightforward. In addition, Registeel hardly has any dangerous or surprising attacks. The relatively low attack power does the rest to make the battle against Registeel a sure thing in your favor with the following countering Pokémon:

– Lavados with Fire Whirl and Heat Fury.

– Entei with Firewhirl and Heatwhirl

– Heatran with Fire Whirl and Fire Storm

– Glurak with Fire Whirl and Lohe Cannonade

– Lohgock with counter and heatwave

– Machomei with counterattack and blast

– Kapilz with counterattack and blast

– Groudon with clay shot and earthquake

– Flamara with Fire Whirl and Heat Fury

– Tornupto with Glow and Lohe Cannonade

Basically, when fighting Registeel, you should go for Pokémon that have Fire, Battle, or Ground type attacks and also take reduced damage from Registeel’s Steel, Battle, and Normal attacks. In general, you should have an easy time fighting Registeel, which is relatively weak for its legendary status, if you focus on strong Ground or Fighting attacks, or give your opponent plenty of Fire DPS.

Especially in sunny weather, you should go for the Mon with fire attacks, as their damage will be boosted. In cloudy conditions, the fighters among your Pokémon will be boosted, but so will Registeel’s battle attacks. In partly cloudy conditions, Registeel’s Hyper Beam does more damage, and in snowy conditions, Metal Claw and Light Cannon hit harder – remember that Registeel will also benefit from the STAB bonus.

Pokémon Go: Catch Registeel

As a Steel Pokémon, Registeel is boosted to level 25 on snow. If you catch it then, it has the perfect 100% IV value with 1,748 CP. If Registeel is not boosted, it has a 100% IV value of 1,398 CP at level 20.

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
