On February 24, 2020 at 10:00 p.m., the event for what is now the 24th Pokémon Day will start in Pokémon Go. Happy Birthday, Pokémon! The first video game in the series was released on February 27, 1996, so there are plenty of reasons for trainers of Niantic’s AR game to celebrate – and above all, to take advantage of plenty of chances to win Shinys. By the way: Our counter tips for Bisaflor, Glurak, Turtok and Armored-Mewtu can be found in this guide. Below is an overview in keywords before we go into some details:

- Bisasam, Glumanda and Schiggy with party hat appear in Tier 1 Raids (also Shiny)
- Mewtu with armor appears in Tier 5 Raids and has the charge attack Psychic Strike
- Bisaflor, Glurak and Turtok appear as clone Pokémon in Tier 4 Raids
- On Feb. 27, the movie Mewtu Strikes Back – Evolution will be released on Netflix
- Trainers will have two special swaps per day
- Raid Day with Nidorino and Gengar with Party Hat on 01.03. from 14:00 to 17:00 (also Shiny)
As part of the Raid Day on March 1, 2020 from 14:00 to 17:00 hrs. Nidorino will appear with Party Hat in Tier 2 raids, while Gengar will spawn in Tier 4 raids. Gengar will have the popular attacks Licker and Psychokinesis. During the event, you can receive up to five free raid passes by spinning the photo screens in the arenas, but as always, you can only keep one free raid pass in your inventory at a time. Accordingly, any free raid passes not received and used will expire after the event on 03/01 at 17:00.
If you want to face Gengar in battle, it’s best to use Mewtu with Confusion and Spookball, Groudon with Clay Shot and Earthquake, Gengar with Dark Claw and Spookball, Metagross with Zen Headbutt and Psycho, or Despotar with Bite and Crunch. Remember that Gengar belongs to the Spirit and Poison types and therefore takes more damage from Unlight and Psycho attacks, for example.
Pokémon GO
Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.
Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights
Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.
Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.
Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More
The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from Pokemon.gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
