In Pokémon Go, the cash registers are ringing again … eh, the event bells. On January 7, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., the event “Mountains of Power” has started and, in addition to the new Shiny Snailmag (and accordingly the evolution to Shiny Magcargo) and the new Mega Aerodactyl, it also brings along a Temporary Research “Mountains of Power”. Mountains of Power – Event in Pokémon Go

Attention: Before we go into details, here’s the hint: The developers of Pokémon Go proclaim that the special research on the – Season of origin continues …. but only for those among the trainers who have bought the ticket to the Johto Tour!

  • The Mountains of Power event starts on January 7, 2022 at 10:00 AM and goes until January 13, 2022 at 8:00 PM.
  • You only need half the distance to reach mate hearts while walking.
  • In the wild, Zubat, Machollo, Littlestone, Snailmag, Nasgnet, Schmerbe, Onyx, and Kastadur appear more frequently. All of these Pokémon can also be obtained as Shiny if you’re lucky. To turn Schneckmag into a Magcargo, you need no more than 50 Schneckmag candies.
  • The following Pokémon appear in the Raids:
  • Tier 1: ALoLa Gem, Onix, Tanhel, and Bronzel. All of them can be caught as Shiny with luck.
  • Tier 3: Ursaring, Donphan, Meditalis and Absol. Absol can be caught as Shiny with luck.
  • Tier 5: Heatran – it can be caught as Shiny with luck.
  • Mega Raid: Mega Aerodactyl – Aerodactyl can be caught as Shiny if you are lucky.
  • Via special research, you can encounter ALoLa Small Stone, Snail Mag, and Flunkifer. All of them can be caught as Shiny with luck.

Mountains of Power – Temporary Research

Mountains of Power – Step 1/2

  • Catch 5 Pokémon – Reward: Encounter with Schneckmag
  • Earn 2 candies while walking with your buddy – Reward: Encounter with Kastadur
  • Hatch an egg – Reward: Encounter with ALoLa Small Stone

Reward for completing Step 1: Encounter with Absol, 1,000 stardust, 10 x Superball

Mountains of Power – Step 2/2

  • Catch 6 different types of Pokémon – Reward: encounter with Palimpalim
  • Earn 2 candies while walking with your buddy – Reward: Encounter with Onix
  • Hatch 2 eggs – Reward: Encounter with Tanhel

Reward for completing Step 2: Encounter with Flunkifer, 2,000 Stardust, 10 x Hyperball

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados).
