PoGO – Pokémon GO: Modular Examinations – Genesect Guide – All Steps

In some parts of the world, it’s already 08:00 local time, and that’s why the special research “Modular Investigations” for Genesect can be found in Pokémon Go. We have updated our with the first steps for the special research and reveal the rewards that await those of you who have purchased the ticket.

Update as of March 19, 2020, 23:00: Somewhere on our planet, it’s always 08:00 local time, and that means the first players can already play the Genesect Special Research “Modular Investigations.” We’re expanding our guide to the special research to include the findings of these players who are ramping up on the Pokémon Go Grassroot Network, TheSilphRoad. Just jump to the various steps for Genesect research via the table of contents on the left. All other details about the Genesect event for all players can be found below. First of all, you don’t need lucky eggs for an XP boost this time. But there is a quest in each step that will earn you 1,000 stardust each – decide for yourself if you want to throw in a star piece for that.

Original news from March 19, 2020, 4:30 p.m.: After the purchasable special research “A Colossal Discovery”, via which Pokémon Go players could unlock Regigigas in advance and without an EX Raid invitation, there’s now the next Pokémon to “buy” for the collection: Genesect. Until March 26, 2020 at 20:00 local time, you can buy the event ticket for 8.99 euros – the money is non-refundable. From March 20, 2020 at 08:00 local time, the special research “Modular Investigation” will be active, through which you can earn Genesect in advance before the mysterious Pokémon eventually replaces Regigigas as EX Raid Boss. Only trainers who have purchased the ticket can participate. You will only receive the special research if you start Pokémon Go once before March 26, 2020 at 22:00.

Unlike the Special Research on Regigigas, completing Modular Investigations doesn’t require group raids, and you (most likely) won’t have to leave the safety of your own four walls to meet the protection from the currently rampant Coronavirus. That’s because, aside from the special research, you’ll receive research tasks that will earn you encounters with Beetle and Steel Pokémon like Fermicula, Pinsir, Panzaeron, Scherox, Laukaps, Schnuthelm, and more Pocket Monsters, among others, which in turn are important for completing “Modular Investigations.” Aside from that, you’ll get a medal, avatar accessories, five premium battle passes, three Super Incubators, three Charge TMs, three Instant TMs, three Smokes, three Star Pieces, a Knursp, 15 special candies, and a Glacial Lock Module – all of which you’ll receive as part of the special research for the different steps.

On top of that, from March 20, 2020 at 08:00 to March 23, 2020 at 22:00, an event around Genesect and “Modular Research” will be activated for every trainer to participate in. The following applies to all Pokémon Go players:

  • Normal, Fire, Water, Electric, and Ice Pokémon appear more frequently in the wild. You will also encounter Pokémon like Pummeluff, Magnetilo, Marill, Hunduster, and Schneppke more often.
  • Nincada appears in the wild or hatches from 5-km eggs. If you’re lucky, you may even catch or hatch an Iridescent!
  • Laukaps and Schnuthelm hatch from 5-km eggs more often.
  • Various Beetle and Steel Pokémon appear in level 1 to 4 Raid battles.
  • Double Fang Stardust
  • Double Hatching Stardust

Below we explain what you need to do in Modular Investigations for Genesect. Have fun with it! Attention. The individual steps are not yet known at the current time (03/19/2020), but we will update this guide promptly as soon as players can already get started with the special research.

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
