If you’re fed up with Mega Glurak, Mega Turtok, and Mega Bisaflor in Pokémon Go’s Mega Raids, you can look forward to September 19, 2020, when Mega Pigeonoss will also be able to hatch from the Mega Egg. In our counter guide to Mega Pigeon Boss in Pokémon Go, we tell you what you should watch out for!
It’s a good thing that Pokémon Go players are so industrious and not afraid to play millions of Mega Raids so that all trainers can enjoy seeing a boss other than Mega Glurak Y and Mega Glurak X, Mega Bisaflor and Mega Turtok in the Mega Raids. Because in the morning hours of September 19, 2020, another Mega Evolution can be seen in the Mega Raids and thus also unlocked by you: Mega Tauboss. We’ve got an overview of the pocket monsters you’ll want to pack into your team for this battle in our counter guide to Mega Pigeon Boss. We wish you good luck in the battle! One thing in advance: If you defeat Mega Pigeon as a raid boss, you will not catch Mega Pigeon itself in the subsequent bonus challenge, but an untransformed Pigeon.
Pokémon Go: Mega Pigeon Boss as Raid Boss
Mega Pigeon Boss belongs to the Normal and Flight types, and can be tackled by skilled trainers as a duo if you have the perfect Rock or Electric type counters on your team. However, if you want to play it safe, start the battle with three to five players. As a Normal and Flight Pokémon, Mega Pigeonoss takes the most damage primarily from Electric and Rock attacks, as mentioned, and Ice is also worthwhile. Aside from its flight attacks, Mega Pigeonoss can have the instant attack Steel Wing, which is especially strong against rock and ice attackers and is also boosted in windy conditions. That’s why you’ll mainly rely on electric-type counters. Below you will find the most useful counter Pokémon for the fight against Mega Pigeon Boss in Pokémon Go:
- Zekrom with charge beam and surge
- Rihornior with catapult and rock thrower
- Rameidon with catapult and hail of stones
- Elevoltek with thunder shock and surge
- Raikou with thunder shock and surge
- Terrakium with catapult and hail of stones
- Magnezone with spark and surge
- Zapdos with thunder shock and thunder lightning
- Mamutel with powder snow and avalanche
- Galar-Flampivian with ice tooth and avalanche
- Luxtra with spark jump and surge
- Despotar with catapult and stone edge
- Aerodactyl with stone throw and hail of stones
Pokémon Go: Catch a Mega Pigeon Boss
As already mentioned, after a victory you will not catch Mega Pigeonoss, but a normal Pigeonoss. If you have successfully completed the battle against Mega Pigeonoss, the freestyle follows after the duty and you have the chance to banish the pocket monster into your Pokéball. Then Pigeonoss has 1,216 CP at level 20 with 100% IV values. If Pigeonoss is boosted to level 25 in light cloudy or windy conditions, it will have 1,521 CP at perfect 100% IV values. We wish you good luck in your hunt!
Pokémon GO
Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.
Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights
Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.
Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.
Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More
The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from Pokemon.gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
