PoGO – Pokémon Go: Mega Latios – Guide with the 15 best counters!

The Air Adventure launches on May 3, 2022 in Pokémon Go and features two legendary Pokémon on the silver Mega Tray: Mega Latios and Mega Latias! This counter is primarily about the blue-colored Mega Latios in Pokémon Go and how you can best prepare for the battle. It also learns a special charge attack during the event! Don’t miss out on this one!

With Mega Latios, a legendary Pokémon can be found in the Mega Raids for the first time since the introduction of Mega Evolution in Pokémon Go. Those who have not yet been able to add Latios to their collection will be happy – but not only because of that! Since Latios is of the Dragon and Psycho types, it could become an interesting attacker via Mega Evolution – not to mention that Latios is already quite something in Pokémon Go. Below you can find our current counter guide for fighting Mega Latios in Pokémon Go.

Mega-Latios as a raid boss

Mega-Latios, like its original form, is of Dragon and Psycho type, which means that the range of effective attackers is really wide. The most effective attackers against the legendary Pokémon are: Beetle (boosted by rain), Spirit (boosted by fog), Ice (boosted by snowfall), Dragon (boosted by wind), Unlight (boosted by fog), and Fairy (boosted by overcast weather). If you want to get more out of the aforementioned attackers, you should fight in the aforementioned weather changes.

Along with the rework on the Mega evolutions, the difficulty level of the Mega Raids has also been adjusted. However, since Mega Latios is a legendary Pokémon, the competition points are correspondingly high and you need to bring a whopping 84,000 CP to zero. You should go into battle with four to five trainers. Below is a list of the best counters against Mega Latios.

  • Crypto Brutalanda with Dragon Rod and Rage Attack
  • Mega-Latios with fire breath and dragon claw
  • Mega-Gengar with dark claw and spook ball
  • Crypto Dragoran with dragon rod and rage attack
  • Mega Dogemon with tirade and parasite
  • Crypto Snibunna with tirade and avalanche
  • Crypto Mamutel with powder snow and avalanche
  • Rayquaza with dragon rod and tantrum
  • Crypto Despotar with bite and crunch
  • Brutalanda with dragon rod and rage attack
  • Dialga with fire breath and Draco Meteor
  • Crypto Guardevoir with charm and magic glow

Catch (Mega) Latios

Once you have defeated Mega Latios, its Mega powers fade and it reverts to its normal form. So you don’t catch Mega Latios, but an ordinary Latios. In its normal form, Latios is also of the Dragon and Psycho type and has a value of 2178 CP at level 20 with 100% IV values. When Latios is boosted to level 25 on Wind, it has 2723 CP at perfect 100% IV values. We wish you much success!

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
